What's the cost (to me) each time a vistor views a half hours salesletter video hosted on amazon s3?

I haven't created the video yet but i'm curious to know off the bat, how much each visitor will cost me simply for them viewing the video?

Anyone have experience of this and can give me a rough idea?

    • Yeah but i don't know what file size a half hour sales video is likely to be as if you read my first post, i haven't created the video yet.

      Anyone know what the file size for a half hour sales video is? I know it varies but i'm just looking for a rough idea. I want to know if a half hour sales video will cost me like 1c or 10c or $1 or whatever every time someone views it. Just a rough idea.

    If you are going to be successful with your own business you need to be able to figure out the simple things on your own.

    Data Transfer (streaming video) is 0$ for the first Gig then then 12 cents a Gig up to 10 TB, then it gets cheaper.

    A 30 minute TV episode is 220 MB in MP4. I have another 30 minute episode in AVI that is 120 MB. The size of the file depends on the quality of the video and the compression codec used for encoding.

    You could stream the 30 min MP4 just over 4 times (880 MB) before you had to pay. After that you would be paying about 3 cents each time it is streamed.

    You could stream the 30 min AVI over 8 times (960 MB) before you had to pay. After that you would be paying less than 2 cents each time it is streamed.

    That is assuming the viewers watch it long enough that their player buffers the entire file from Amazon.

    That looks like about 40-50 views for $1.

    You also need to pay for regular storage at 12.5 cents per Gigabyte. So that would add about 3 cents a month for a 220 MB video.

    • Cool. Thats alot cheaper that i thought it might be. I saw online some guy say 1 hour of HD video would cost $1 a time for someone to view it. Obviously i couldn't afford to pay 50c for everytime someone viewed my video sales letter at that rate.
