Newbie, getting started.....

Hi all,

New to IM, reading a lot of material right now including on this forum, seems to be a wealth of info out there although a little daunting.

So a few newbie questions.

1. What is the key differences between a niche website and a niche blog?
2. Does either one lend itself to keeping a steady income over the other?
3. I have chosen several niches i want to get into, done my keyword research, seo research, domain and hosting research, one of my niches hasnt got an informative site about that niche on 1st page of google just shops, question is do i try to aim for a authority website for that niche over just a small niche website?
4. If yes to question 3, would i be better putting all my time into just this one project as a newbie?
5. Would the above project be viable on a very very shoe string budget, preferably free?
6. Amazon do not sell the top products of this niche so could i still make money just from advertising as i dont think any of the online shops in this niche do affiliate progrmas?

Ok that will do for now, im sure lots more will come up.

Very exciting to be taking a step into IM, just hope i can get it to work. Not after a huge amount of money pure month which leads me onto my last question.....
7. is £230 per month a viable amount to achieve from IM if i put the work in?

      As Randall said, you can find answers to these questions here on WF.

      Real quickly though...
      1. There really isn't a difference. A niche blog IS a niche website.
      2. Any type of site can convert. The bigger factor is how targeted your landing page and offering is for the referring search phrase.
      3. Your goal with every website should be to become an "authority" on that topic, regardless of how large or small your website or the market is. Being an authority doesn't mean your website has to be big, although the two are usually correlated.
      4. Yes, I would complete a website and get it on a SEO maintenance schedule before starting on a 2nd website. You don't need to wait until it's ranking and kicking butt to start a new one, but you don't really want to be in the build-out phrase for more than 1 at a time.
      5. Yes. If you do it all yourself you can do it for almost nothing.
      6. Yes, you can do a combination of being an affiliate for top retailers in the niche and/or using dropshipping to sell the products yourself. You can also do some adsense or other contextual type ads to make money on the site if you want to.
      7. For sure. I've made 6 figures a year for several years straight now online. (although, most of it has been through ecommerce & not traditional affiliate marketing)

    Both are the same pretty much. Both will generate you a steady income, any site will.. You do an authority site or a micro site, it's up to you. I always go for authority.. Yes, focus on one project, get a solid guide and go at it! Yes I've built and ranked sites for under $100, some of those are producing $3K/Month incomes now, anything is possible.. Even with a limited budget. Do both! Amazon + Adsense, that's how I make a good chunk of my 5 figure income.

      I agree with this post. Focusing on building an authority site and focus all your attention on making your site successful. Don't jump from shiny object to object. Focus on one proven system and never give up.

    2. No. You're real question would be the difference between an authority site and a niche site.
    3. Choose 1 product within 1 niche and 1 business model to promote said product. I can already tell that you are putting too much on your plate.
    4. As I said in 3, stick to one and yes, devote all your time to getting that off the ground.
    5. Yes, but there are very few biz models that you could start using free methods.
    6. Huh? Oh I get it. Check your sentence structure. To answer the question, Amazon has an affiliate program.
