Perhaps the most important thing newbies need to know is how to use the search function on this forum. There is too much information that has already been shared for guys to use.

Now that you've shared those tips, one can pick any of those and search for more info.

What you've shared is more than enough for any newbie to get started, but will they? I doubt the endless repeat questions will slow down any time soon.

I would add "Webstie flipping" and "Youtube" to the list.

I think there are lots of newbies signing up here on WF everyday. So they keep on posting such questions. Maybe admin can make a "sticky post" on how to use the search function.

Although I agree with OP here's what's going to happen. This thread will quickly sink into oblivion and tomorrow the forum will still be full of the same old questions that have been asked and answered a thousand times before.

I punt the search button at every opportunity but as long as there are people who are answering the same questions over and over they will continue.

Even a question that could easily be resolved with a G search becomes a hot topic?
You struggle to find any new/fresh info among the same old posts day in and day out.

That's just the way it is, ain't going to change anytime soon.
Some people just assume that they have the most original never before asked questions, the days of digging in and doing some research are gone.

People want answers and they want them now, they don't have the time or inclination to search for them...

I can't help but nod my head in agreement with much of what you have written here.

I think the OP is trying to make another thread which is quite similar to this, http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...desperate.html

Yes - unfortunately there are always new people joining that have no seen all the previous answers and want the same question answered without looking to see if it was already addressed.

It seems to be inevitable in such a busy forum.

Unfortunately there is no easy answer to such a question and so we end up constantly having to repost the same information or link to previous answers.

I think Alexa is particularly good at this. Although I don't always agree with here perspective, she has a good list of relevant threads for her usual subject and regularly points people to those - so I think that's the way to go.

Rather than keep starting threads like this and having new lists of the same information - just get a good list of threads which address certain questions and then post links to them when people ask again.

Top 10 Overplayed Topics In The Main Internet Marketing Discussion Forum

    10. Anything related to ezinearticles.

    9. Questions about why there are so many crappy sites for sale on flippa.

    8. Anything by MLM fanboys claiming their network is totally different and not a scam at all.

    7. The once-a-month "INTERNET MARKETING DOESN'T WORK IT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSABLE TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE" threads.

    6. People with no products or obvious areas of expertise asking how to launch a WSO.

    5. Any discussion of Facebook fans and Twitter followers (not that it's not important, just these threads always come down to people who bought fake fans wondering why this isn't driving any sales or legit traffic).

    4. Basically anything related to selling on Fiverr (if you can't get Fiverr buyers it's because your offer sucks, period).

    3. Freelance article writers bitching about low rates, as if any idiot with a laptop magically deserves to a earn a full time income just for knowing how to type.

    2. People with obviously poorly-made and poorly-written sites wondering why they're not making sales.

    1. Any discussion of traffic that focuses on Google exclusively as a traffic source.

Not to get too deep into semantics or anything, but isn't the OP doing exactly what they hate by redoing the All In One Thread sticky? After all, it'd accomplish the same thing, just in a more disorganized manner :p.

Actually Semantics has nothing to do with it. I didn't use the the term hate, or dislike, or anything of the sort. I am simply trying to provide info, but thanks for adding another thread for people to get the info in. I also like how you pointed out the disorganization and missed the whole point

So instead of helping you just came on and pointed out the inadequacies of the thread. How much free time do you have : P

The basic principles of marketing and human nature will always remain the same.

But the nuts and bolts of exactly how you implement the basic principles are constantly changing.

The other possibility, should this thread survive, is that it will quickly become useless. People seeking to boost their post count so they can PM will add useless one-liners. So will the people looking for signature exposure.

There will be multiple off-topic questions, although from the list in the OP, not much would be off-topic. Some will find a way.

There will be at least one disagreement which turns into a personal and nasty flame war. Feelings will be hurt, people will cry foul, others will weigh in on who is to blame.

In other words, this thread, if allowed to continue, will turn into a miniature version of the main discussion area crammed into one thread. I can't really see that ending well...

Just to prove John right (in more than one way) Let's compare two very comparative models .. affiliate marketing on CB and CPA. Go after these two exactly the same and you will fail .. or at least do neither justice.

It would be nice if all facets of IM were the same .. instead of rich marketers ... most of us would be rich beach bums by now.

I'm afraid you are right John.

The thing that I couldn't help but find a little ironic is that the OP started a thread complaining about people starting threads about previously asked questions while there are also many threads started complaining about people starting threads about topics already asked.

So in essence, he did the same thing he was complaining about. <sigh>

Repetitive questions do not bother me. I compare them to a TV show that doesn't interest me .. I just don't watch it. If I see a question that has been answered 100 times .. I just skip it and go to the next one.

    One sentence:

I am getting tired answering. I remember someone asking the same question over and over again in different threads. I and fellow warriors did our best but he ended-up with stupid decision without considering any of our suggestion.... And he came back complaining...
