Download page after opt-in? HELP.

Hi Warriors, I hope you're all well.

Just a very quick one, and I know this is very basic, but it's not actually something I've done before. I've focused most of my work on CPA, but like a tonne of bricks, it hit me the other day that I need to start building a list! (I know, I know)

So, life story cut short, what I need to know how to do, is create a download page. What I mean, is when you opt-in to something, you have your thank-you page etc, and you then most of the time receive that first e-mail with a link in to your free report (Or whatever it is you're giving away). You then click the link, and go to the "Download Page" Where you can get your pdf, or whatever it may be.

Now It's this download page, that I don't actually know how to construct. I know this is very very basic stuff to a lot of you guys, but it's not something I've done before personally.

If anyone could write me up a little list of instructions, or point me in the direction of some, as always, I would be very very grateful.

Cheers guys.

All the best

my download pages are very basic

i use optimize press and also amazon s3 to host my files and also for creating my video
players if i want to send people actual videos

(relying on youtube or any other video platform is not a good idea)

i create a little download page with a download link to there free videos/report

also, which is very important is have your paid product underneath too (if you have one)
because some people will purchase it

you can either do this or just send your subscribers there free report in there first email
as a PDF url link which you would host on your server

you don`t need to over complicate this process it`s very easy :-)

Thanks Paul that's really helpful stuff.

I know it's a painfully easy process, but it wasn't until I got to this stage when I actually realized I didn't know how to do it! lol

Hosting the pdf on my server sounds like the best bet, so that's what I'll look at doing. After a good nights sleep of course.

Once again, thanks for the help, much appreciated.

    All the best

On your thank you page you just post a link to whatever your offering.. Granted it's not the most secure and many people could just bookmark that page, but it works and many people do it

I'm with Thomas, simple thank you page on your website with a link is fine.

I also thought it was not secure because someone can simply link my page instead of opt-ing in, but the same thing goes for the free report. There is nothing to stop them from sharing the report itself.....

You can always set your autoresponder to send the free report to
their e-mail. This way you won't need a download page; just a normal
page which notifies your subscribers that they'll receive the report
    by e-mail.

Just create a simple page that offers your product download at the top, then underneath it, pitch your prospects on your offer - and also send the download link to your prospects email address via your autoresponder.

Just create a simple page in Wordpress. Link to the pdf within the page.

I'd take a trickier move. I'll attach the pdf in a follow up email or a welcome email. And the thank you page will be an OTO or affiliate offer on top of which I'd mention, "Your download will be sent to you through email in a few minutes. Please look at the spam folder if you don't get....bla...bla..bla.."

It's been working well for me.

Ready to learn something better. Hit me up with better real life ideas guys.

If you are using a single optin and don't want to create a download page, you can directly send them the download link in the confirmation message(via your autoresponder).

The benefit of a download page is that you can promote an OTO(one time offer) on this page.A percentage of your subscribers will purchase this OTO and you'll make some money upfront.

If you don't have a product of your own or have difficulty in writing down a sales letter, you can always buy some PLR or resale rights products(many of these products come with readymade sales letters) and promote them on your "download page".

Wow, thanks for the response guys, really helpful stuff. I'm spoiled for choice now! lol

I ended up going with one of Paul's suggestions, but I think in the future I'll use the Autoresponder method, seems to be the easiest.

Thanks again guys, and all the best to you!
