Integrating Clickbank and Aweber - signups from sales

I'm about to start selling my first product through Clickbank. Everything was going fine until I got to the part where I wanted to add buyers to my Aweber email list once they purchase the product.

Aweber's instructions tell you to use the Clickbank 'Transactional' email address and insert 'yourlistname@aweber.com' into this field. This will direct the purchase emails to Aweber's parser and automatically add purchasers to your list. The downside appears to be that this is the email address that Clickbank sends all transactional emails to i.e. refund requests etc and Clickbank can show this email address to the customer. So I wouldn't see any of those emails - they'd all go to Aweber.

So this doesn't seem to be the ideal solution.

Aweber's other suggestion is to include a signup box on the download page. This isn't an option as I don't want to rely on a purchaser filling out more forms than they have to.

I can't believe there's not a simple way to integrate these two service providers.

Ideally I'm looking for a plugin of some sort that will take the Clickbank data, send it to Aweber and still allow me to get all the transactional emails that I need to see.

From a few searches on google and this forum it appears that some of the membership site plugins may be an option.

I'm looking for advice on the best way to integrate this process so purchasers via Clickbank are automatically added to my Aweber list and are then taken to the download page. I'm comfortable using a single opt-in process with Aweber. My site is built on Wordpress.

Any thoughts / suggestions will be gratefully accepted.

    lol.

I just created a post a few minutes ago.

I'm in the same boat as you, and set up wishlist member to automatically add subscribers to aweber.

    Unfortunately, it's not working.

I'm waiting to hear back from tech support

      Hey Sarevok,

I'm thinking a plugin like Wishlist is the way I'm going to have to go. I wish it was simpler. I don't want to start a membership site - I just want to sell a product

Let me know if you get any answers.

Also try DLGuard - Download page protector, create expiring download links Allen.

I use this on a couple of my CB websites. I chose DLguard specifically for integrating CB with Aweber. Sam just came out with DLguard 5, so I'm sure it has improved a great deal. I've used it for years building my list and securing a members only wordpress blog.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I was looking at DLGuard and Wishlist last night. It appears that DLGuard 5 now makes it easier to integrate with a Wordpress thank you page. Wishlist looks good as well because it sits inside Wordpress as a plugin.

Thanks @WillR for your suggestion of WP File Lock. That looks to be a good option as well although from the video it's hard to tell if it would work across multiple products.

FYI, I purchased WP File Lock a few days ago and was EXTREMELY disappointed that it is NOT compatible with Clickbank as advertised.

You cannot enter the text required by Clickbank on the Thank You page and, therefore, cannot get your page approved by Clickbank...

I have been working with Clickbank and the WP File Lock support for the past two days without success. I am working on my first offering as a Clickbank vendor (vs. affiliate) and am very excited about the launch of my new product. I had really hoped WP File Lock was going to be the solution. Unfortunately, WP File Lock has been more of a source of frustration than a solution.

If you are intending to use this product for integration with Clickbank, it will not work. Support says they are aware of the incompatibility and are working on an update, but they will not commit to any timeframe which tells me we won't be seeing it for the foreseeable future.

Overall, the concept is pretty good and if you don't need the Clickbank integration the system is pretty easy to install, seems to easily integrate with PayPal, and seems to offer pretty good protection of your downloadable file from would be thieves.

However, the experience has personally left me feeling ripped off. How can you offer a product as "compatible with Clickbank" when you KNOW it doesn't work with Clickbank. I find that rather unethical.

So, before you purchase WP File Lock all I can say is, "Let the buyer beware" and know that it currently does not work for this application before you shell out for it.
