Hi Warriors,

I sincerely need help regarding my site's squeeze page. I have a site and want to build a list. But the problem I am having is where should I situate the squeeze page?

Do I need to register a domain name for it separately or it has to be integrated within the site. If it is to be integrated within the site, should it serve as the home page or not? I dont want the activity on the site to interfere with that of the squeeze page.

Useful info and tips will be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

I think different people will have different opinions but I would like if it can put in the right column of all the pages with a catchy headline.

Generally people will land in your site or pages with the keyword they search for and if they find a related stuff to get after opting in then they will opt-in.

You can use a separate domain but then doing SEO of that 1 page site is another job.

    Thank you
    My 2 cents...
A blunt head in these stuffs but that's my thoughts

It totally depend on your niche and what type of site you have built. I personally suggest, follow some best performing sites in your niche. If it works, then you can test for a different design.

P.S: I wouldn't be too creative at the beginning.

This is actually a fairly complicated question which i've spent a lot of time thinking about.

If you click on my signature below, you can see what path i've chosen.

I designed this WordPress theme to incorporate a squeeze page / sale page, as the first page of the WordPress blog.

But many many marketers will buy a completely seperate domain name for their squeecepage. One reason is because they fear that an onslaugh of links from questionable websites will hurt the ranking of their primary website.

Another reason might be because they have several products, and would like a different pitch page and account for each one.

So it really depends on your product and goals.

You need to test both options and see which one works best for your particular niche.

I've tested both ,with blog that offer a lots of quality information, with a sidebar opt-in and with the squeeze page on the home page.

Just build your squeeze page on a separate page (not on homepage! On homepage you can have subscription form)

Use "Exclude Pages" WP plugin to get rid of links on that squeeze page. Also, if you don't want it to be indexed, modify your robots.txt file (you can use plugin to do this).

I think you can use a pop up kinda thing on home page. I have seen my website owners doing it and it can be really successful if the pop up is well designed. Have a great looking pop up and offer something valuable if you want to collect email addresses etc.

There are so many variables involved that the best solution is to run a test and see what works best for you. Because of niche products, web design, etc., what works well for one person may be awful for another person.

I remember fretting about this very issue. But you can just have it as a page on your blog/suite, so your link would look like www sitename dot com / freeebook. That kind of link is perfectly fine. It would work well for affiliate links also, once you learn to cloak links with a simple php redirect, which you can learn by doing a search for "cloaking affiliate links"
