INTERNET MARKETING

I was offered a site that has no monetization.

It's getting 500 to 750 a day in my niche and is several years old.

Quite a few in bound links and ranking for a few keywords broadly related to my niche.

How much would you say it's worth?

It's essentially a blog of a few hundred on topic articles with comments. No monetization, not even Adwords.

Nice link for sure - but doesnt seem to work for small income or zero incomes sites.

@jeskola: I always like to go with 15 to 20 times the sites monthly earnings to get a ballpark figure on how much the site would be worth.

Hey - that's the issue. there is no monetisation yet.

0 x 15 = 0

The traffic and the age of the site plus the number of articles/comments must give it a value though?

That's why that tool is right. It is pointless to sell a site that is not making money yet as you can't have a good price for it... My previous and first ever blog "myseoblog.net" was analyzed by that tool and gave me price of $3150, I sold the site for $3,200 back 2008 at sitepoint marketplace.. It's pretty accurate when it comes to pricing estimate provided you put all correct data.

It will give some minimal value but nothing compared to a site that is making some income already. Check out Flippa to get an idea. Btw, why not put some ads like adsense on the site since you are getting 500 to 750 visits a day? I'm sure you can get some clicks if you do that!

Also forgot to mention, UPSALE the heck out of your site, even if it earns nothing and has no traffic and put a bin of 5k and get newbies bidding on it. Will flippa listings ever seize to amaze me. :rolleyes:

jeskola,

An easy way to compare and calculate is:

1. If you already have a site that is earning in the same niche, calculate the per visit value that you make and then whatever that is, multiple that value times the traffic this other site is getting.

I.e. Your site = 1000 visits a day = $125.00 = $.125 visitor value
New Site Daily Value = $.125 X 500 = $62.50

2. Then calculate a monthly value = Daily X 30 or in our example, $62.50 X 30 = $1875

3. Use a multiplier of 12 - 15 times, less if you are buying, more if you are selling, to calculate the site value. I.e $1875 X 12 - 15 = $22,500 to $28,125.

4. Don't forget to include any costs involved for operating and maintaining the site, so you get a net profit value when doing all this.
