    • You gotta love what they did here to PayPal
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • Thanks for the list, Thomas.

My only problem is my clients have never heard of any of them, so I have to keep doing business with paypal.

I am in Germany for some months, and here even Paypal is not widely used by companies but only bank transfer. And no cheques any more, I think they got rid of cheques in the last century.

      Cheers

  • I don't know why you want to use them...I didn't had any experience with wepay.. but they are legit 100 % ...

    • Someone I am doing business with cannot use Paypal, so I want oblige them, and use something they can use.......
  • Just had a circle conversation with WePay.......

My problem with them is this. I offer design services to clients and send invoices to them for payment.

Design process does not start until payment is cleared and available in my account.

WePay unlike Paypal takes 1-2 days to process the invoice AFTER the client has already payed the invoice, even if you are a verified business member...... lol!

It make no sense at all. Paypal at least has this part down pat, others may have issues with Paypal, but I still believe they are the best out there.

Paypals biggest issue and hurdle is holding peoples money for ransom. Which causes major problems, since the money they freeze is a usually the major cash flow of any business running money through paypal ...
  • I hope we pay is a success. Also, that fee bay and pray pal go away. Yeah, we pray that they will pay. Nothing but a big pain. Certainly, most of use do not like fee bay or its satellite companies. They believe in zero consumer service. Oh yes, just like big mama.
  • No matter how many alternatives out there, PayPal is still the king of online payment processor.
  • I keep seeing all these threads saying 'Paypal alternative'.

The reality is there is NO alternative to Paypal.

The advantages of using Paypal go far beyond just being able to receive payments instantly and customers being able to instantly pay you with various methods.

One of the BIGGEST advantages to using Paypal is their reputation and authority they have built up over many many years. People (your customers) trust Paypal and they aren't about to trust some other fly-by-night payment processor that has just popped up.

No other service will be able to come close to that for a very long time and thus why we are yet to see a payment processor that has made any real traction against Paypal.

You could use one of these Paypal 'alternatives' on your site but I will bet you $1,000 that had you used Paypal as the payment method instead, your conversions would have been much better.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I used Paypal and never find any bad (yet) - Unless the fee that may be considerable. So I just prefer to use it and didn't think for an alternative.
  • If you invoice checkout Google wallet/checkout
  • I haven't tried it. Please share your experience.
  • Paypal or google checkout would be the most recognized and trusted payment sources on the internet.

The dreaded Paypal cancelled the account of a business I was involved in earlier this year. It had rapidly grown to over 30,000 members and overnight paypal shut it down. What a nightmare.

    • My pro's and cons.

I only do paypal, because in Aus, the four big banks charge a premium for a business account.

I use paypal, as it was an easy option in Virtuemart. People have brand awareness and you can use your credit card without being a paypal member.

The two major downsides I have is they charge 2.4% So If my margin is less than 100% which it always is, then the real rate off my margin is more like 5% plus. Then there is the delay in them moving clients money from your account to your bank account.

Except for that, it has worked out pretty good.
