Want free source of sign up box

Hi, I am a newbie, so please forgive my lack of being able to describe what I want help with in clearer terms and also for perhaps posting this question in the wrong part of the forum.

I want to add a form to my website that appears when someone clicks on the site and "crawls" down the screen, asking the visitor to sign up for a free newsletter. The box would disappear when the visitor fills in the form with his email or clicks "remove box", then leaving the website visible without this box. I do not know what this sign up box is called. Does anyone have a source for free code to do this?

I'm not sure, but it sounds like you want a pop-up or fly-in opt-in form.

Sorry, I don't have the code for it, but hope this will enable others to help you find what you need.

If you know of a site that uses what you describe, that would help, too.
