I've heard that Allen Says is going to sponsor Steve to stop posting
because of the load on the database caused by his contributions.

          Karl,

That's because when Steven posts, people click. He's responsible for quite a large chunk of the time I spend here.

Hey, has anybody noticed that Kay, Seasoned Steve, Patricia and Willie
Crawford are all ahead of me and will certainly reach 10,000 posts long before
                  I do?

Now see what you've all done? You've put the wammy on me. My PC 'll break
down and I'll NEVER reach 10,000 posts.

Guess I have to put in an advanced call to my support tech.

Well, if you want to know the truth, he nearly reached that milestone in the first week he was here. Does the word "prolific" ring a bell?

      What ARE you saying Chris!

Steven didn't want anyone to know he suffered from PDS (Post Diarrhoea Syndrome)

Actually, Steven, the more I watch you and your work, I wonder, how do you find the time, the inspiration and the drive to do what you do.

We would all love to know how you manage to seperate the family demands from the work demands. You seem to be able to have managed what we would all have liked to achieve at some point.

I'm sorry if this seems like a rambling post, but you have shown the tenacity to keep comming back, knock after knock, when the rest of us go! argh! take a break, come back later.

What is the secret? what strength do you draw on? what is your motivation?
If you don't want to post publicly that's fine, just send me a pm.
Like I have always said, it's nothing personal, it can't be on a public forum.
      Just intersted that's all.

      Kindest regards,

      Janet Sawyer

November 20th, IMO. Now that Steven knows people are watching, it will affect his posting habits subliminally...

Janet, I'm going to try to answer your questions as honestly as I can.

Actually, Steven, the more I watch you and your work, I wonder, how do you find the time, the inspiration and the drive to do what you do.
I enjoy what I do. I like people. I like talking to people. What many people
here don't know is I had a long history before I ever got into marketing
of frequenting the AOL chat rooms. I used to live there. So networking is
just something that comes naturally to me.

We would all love to know how you manage to seperate the family demands from the work demands. You seem to be able to have managed what we would all have liked to achieve at some point.
I am lucky in that respect. I don't have many family demands. My daughter
lives on campus and my wife works a full time job as a teacher so I am
home alone a lot. Another reason I like chatting with folks here. It keeps
        me from going stir crazy.

What is the secret? what strength do you draw on? what is your motivation?
The secret is to enjoy what you do. Lots of people don't make money
online, not because they don't have the smarts, but because they really
hate the work so much they can't bring themselves to do it. I thought, at
one time, that I wanted to be a great chess player. But the discipline I
needed to really study and learn the game properly, I wasn't prepared to
commit to it. So as a result, I'm a fair chess player. So many people
think that if they want to make money online, all they have to do is learn
how. I don't believe that's enough. I believe you have to enjoy it or you'll
hate it so much, after a while, even if you're successful, you'll stop doing
        it.

As for motivation, I don't need much. I look at my daughter's college
tuition and that's all the motivation I need. But you know what? If I didn't
need the money, I'd still do this. Why? Again, I really love it. I love the
challenge, the excitement, the creativity, the diversity and I love meeting
with and working with people. When I was QA manager at my last company,
it was a job I really loved because I got to supervise a whole department.
Unfortunately, the company moved to Pittsburgh and I was out of work.

Anyway, I've rambled on enough. I hope this kind of answers your questions.
