There are literally a ton of List Building threads here, just use the search function and you will be golden.

If you are making in list in IM niche then running a FREE WSO could get you good no. of subscribers in a less time. You may also try to JVgiveaways. I found them best to make a quick list.

The beauty of list builing is once your list is large enough like 1000, then you can easily swap lists, also buy solos and grow your list almost 50-100 a day.

Youtube could be a good source if done properly.

The secret is no secret.

I find that with blogging and article writing it's not good enough just to write great content. To get the visitors and leads you have to promote it. Visit Kim Roach's site BuzzBlogger - she has some awesome tips for generating traffic. I just started using her 10 steps to 1000 visitors a day routine and have been my leads double.

When you're on a tight budget you have to work a little harder to build a list but if you can afford it - start small with solo ads, ad swaps and targeted facebook ads and promoted posts.

what works well today worked well 3 years ago and that is solo ads and ppc

with solo ads and ppc you can easily build a huge list fast but you must make sure that you have everything set up in the background otherwise your going to lose your shirt when you start to drive traffic to your pages

Like everybody has said, there really isn't a secret, find a way to drive traffic to a page that has an opt-in form on it. There are some key things you should know, things like make sure you have a method of monetization both in the sign up phase as well in the follow up sequence.

One of the biggest advantages I've used in my sign up phase is (and still to this day) moving the free line. Right after they have enter their email address, start off the relationship by providing your number 1 BIGGEST secret that will actually provide them a REAL result.

Give first, and you shall receive.

Solo ads cost money, so that's probably out of the question.

And you don't want to do any blogging...

You could create a product on a topic you already know, sell it, get affiliates to promote it, and build a list of buyers that way.

Simple... but not easy.

For long term success, articles and blog is still the great tool. If you are poor in writing you can outsource it at very cheap price. In your blog page, add an opt-in box, when any visitor happy with your content they might sign in.

Solo ads what do you mean by this? You mean solo ads in other peoples newsletters right?

How about guest blogging? It's a good way to get your name out there with your fellow bloggers.

Make sure to add excellent content so that your subscribers will love you and will sign up for your list.

Run alot of ads. Dabble in some free marketing. And do referral marketing with your list members.

I would start with Free Solo Mailers, JV Giveaways, and Free WSO's if you are tight on budget. I also agree with creating your own product and launching it here as a WSO because a buyer is worth 100 times more than a freebie seeker. Once you have some money work with the paid sources like Solo ads, ppc on facebook bing etc

If your budget is tight then I'm afraid quick list building
is out of the question for you, unless you're willing to do
a lot of work such as writing and posting articles.

Off course solo ads, swaps, article marketing, video marketing.......all those are true. They work for real.

FREE WSO is only acceptable if it really brings value. Otherwise you may lose the faith of the community as big as WarriorForum. By value I mean real and solid material in your freebie offer.

Forum marketing is my favorite method. It's a bit slow. But solid. People will only look at your sig link if what you are saying is sincere and helpful to them. So, sincerity towards helping people in need is the best way to build credibility and get subscribers who'd like to listen to you or read or emails. That's the ultimate result we all look for from our email lists. Isn't it?

So, go through forums and leave your super helpful ideas and share your experience with people. You'll get some buyers and subscribers who'll never leave you.

Focus on building a QUALITY list rather than just the
size or speed that your list grows.

I'd prefer to build a list of say 1,000 highly targeted
subscribers patiently than grow a list of 10,000 poorly
targeted 'subscribers' more rapidly.

Successful list building is a marathon, not a sprint.

Yep I have to agree with the above comment.

Numbers on your list does not necessary mean that you are going to be in instant profit.

How responsive and targeted are your subscribers and how well do they repsond to your emails?

If you have 50,000 on your list and no one responds then this is obviously of no use to you.

Produce some kind of product that is of massive value and ultra targeted and give it away!

Then you can promote relevant affiliate offers that further enhance the FREE training you have already given.

Or you can give a part of your own course away for free and then entice your subscribers to purchase the rest of your course by consistently providing massive quality to them via email.

Build up that initial trust and they will thank you for it further down the line by becoming loyal customers.

It depends in what direction you want to go! Is it paid or free traffic you want!?
Firstly you need a landing page professionally done! There are a numbers of ways to get free traffic (blog and forum marketing, guest blog post, social media, youtube...)
You need to be patient and consistent and treat this like a business!
In a few months you can drive good targeted traffic to your site.
It's all up to you!

Just get a good blueprint to follow and stick with.

If you're on a tight budget, I'd suggest you buy some solos until you have a list of about 300 then start swapping in safe-swaps.com

If you can't afford solos a very bad alternative is adf.ly but the traffic is VERY low quality, however it will help you build a list to start swapping.

Make sure you have a backend offer to start making some money in the process.

While article marketing and blogging may seem old technique to engage, they are still working after all this year.

You may try video marketing like Youtube. If you do it right, result can be immediate.

In my experience the quickest way to build a list in the IM niche is to put up a free wso that's laser targeted toward something in particular then use WarriorPlus affiliate program to promote related WSO's that will assist the subject further.

You know, you can still build your list with solo ads. You just need to get the right sellers and you will see your list grow even with only $30-$60. The best part is that once you have people on your list and you have a stable OTO, you will probably get your money back and break even so you can reinvest the same money and get more subscribers.

Hi ATL, I read the whole thread and although I would also recommend solo ads as a good way to grow your list fast I also saw that you say that your budget is tight. So...

What I think you really need is is some leverage.

A free way to create leverage is to create your own product. Then put your product on JVZoo or Warrior Plus and offer 75% commissions. (some might say 100% commissions but I disagree) then contact people in your niche that have a list and establish relationships with them. Don't just hit them up and try to pimp your product.

Once you get to know them a bit ask them if they will send your offer to their list. They get the sales and you get a buyers list built for you. And that is the best sort of list that there is.

If you put your product on JVZoo or Warrior Plus you might find that other marketers will promote it for you without you even having to ask. If it looks like a good product and has good sales copy.

Now this may all sound like a lot of work. And it is. But if you have more time available than money then it's a good way to get some leverage into your business.

The secret is put up an opt-in form on your blog or web page, offer something of value like a free report for those who signed up to your list and do use double opt-ins for your list.

I've actually been really successful with Mini Giveaway Events.

Here's an example of one that i recently did.. Free IM Products!

I collect the emails on that index page. Then my participants send a certain amount of clicks and provide their offers. Which then people can get their offers. A win win type event.

You can easily build a list quickly with this method. Someone built a list with this method to 4,000 in 30 days.

Create an information product and sell it for $7, you'll make money and build a high quality list of buyers. You could also sign up to/host free webinars with AnyMeeting (free) and build your list that way.

Personally I believe solo ads is way to go to build your list and it's pretty inexpensive. I have purchased 100 clicks for about $40 and gotten a 30% conversion rate = 30 leads and some sales. However you need to track your campaigns so you know what list coverts the best for you. A high converting funnel plus a quality list = lead and sales.
