It is back?

Anyone noticed that the number of people viewing a certain forums was disabled for quite awhile?

Back then, people said that it was useful in terms of indicating the most crowded time frame that people goes on the WSO forum, and which are/aren't the best/worst times to launch products.....

And now it's back again, any ideas on how we can monetize those numbers in any other ways? :O

Yes it's back, but I didn't want to mention it because when I do, it disappears again. lol
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
  • Last night there were 8287 people viewing the WSO, it's mind boggling!!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Wow, the number of people looking for valuable information is too high.

Hope people get what they are looking for and take action

    • Or looking for plugins, software, coaching, and everything else the thousands of affiliates pushing WSOs are promoting.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • That number only shows the number of people visiting the WSO section within a certain timeframe.

A person only needs to be viewing any WSO to be counted, and that's it. They could be there, as Ron mentioned, as the result of an affiliate directing them to a specific offer. They could also be a WSO seller visiting their own thread.

Furthermore, it's possible (though I don't know for sure) that a visit is counted for several hours after a person leaves the WSO board. In other words, the number reflects all of the people who have visited in the last 6, 12, or 24 hours.

While the number may be interesting, it's not all that useful.

The number we really need is how many people are actively browsing WSOs right now.

    All the best,
    Michael
  • Ed, thanks for pointing that out...I always liked that feature. Even though I know it's not fully explained as to what the traffic count really means, it's still useful to know where the action is at different times of day.

The setting is at 1 hour currently. So the number you see is the number of people that have been in there in the last hour.

    I think. Something like that..:-)

Thanks for clearing that up, Allen!

Personally, I missed not being able to see how many people there were viewing different parts of the forum.

    • Thanks, Allen.

I believe 1 hour is a fair time limit, and adds to the accuracy of the number.

As far as the number of people browsing the WSO section goes? I have no idea if it's even possible to track and report something like that...

...but it sure would be interesting to see the "real" number in real time.

      All the best,
      Michael

  • I saw this magic number and thrilled, can anyone publish the sales figure on that hour?
  • Showing the numbers can be bad thing, in some other forums I read when the numbers are high, there are numerous amounts of new posts of crap by the same users over and over.
I do suppose they might not have as good administrators as warrior forum to get rid of them
  • Yes, a great number.Who dont want to get something special:-)

    • What a lot of people don't realize is something that has been discussed in the past with that number as well.

WSO thread owners will a lot of times have a constant tab open in that area to monitor their own threads.

Then there are those doing research, and are only there to spy on the other offers.

Finally, there are silly people like myself who leave a bazillion tabs open and proceed to fall asleep in front of the computer.

  • As others mentioned, the number of viewers is a subjective number because there is no real way to determine the actual number of actual active visitors, (with only one Warrior Browser open at one time) to be able to do that you would need some serious CPU time just to deal with all the usage, then it would likely crash because of all the network latency in doing this real time stats would be almost impossible.

But you could divide the number by 2 and arrive at a good average then subtract the time frame from the posting time and arrive at a good average of when the traffic peaks.

Over all, the WSO forum is so busy with so many bumps, that it is becoming a serious challenge to gain the right kind of value from the system, back in the old days you could list a WSO and it would take almost two days to drop off the first page, not so any longer.

Its a big problem which is why JVzoo and others are becoming more popular, just a little handwriting on the wall.
  • It seems like it has basically doubled in the last 2-3 years.
  • I'm not familiar with the resource requirements of the forum software, but I noticed that the return of these stats coincided with the disabling of the links in the list of currently active members on the home page.

If the two issues are indeed connected, it seems like a reasonable trade-off to me.

  • Oh wow, I hadn't noticed they put those stats back up there.

    Thats pretty cool
  • Crazy numbers when you think of it!

All those people looking for the Holy Grail - of course minus the product owners...

I would like to know how many people are looking for systems and "how to's" from that number - I browse WSO's quite often to pick up tools, wp themes etc...
  • Yeah thanks for shedding light on this Allen, i've noticed and often wondered. Now it all makes sense
