Recently I tried using Craigslist as a way to gain more traffic and at first it was very successful. But now when I try to post something new every 48 hours, I never see any of my posts, nor do I bring in any traffic.

Has this happen to you before? Am I banned? What other ways can I generate traffic.

This is my website Project Casting - Free Auditions, Free Casting Calls & More!

  • Make an actual account on Craigslist. This lets you track all your postings, so it's easy to make any modifications, if need be.

Also if you're posting from an international IP address, you're postings will not get published.

Once they decide that you are violating their TOS you,re done as far as that account and the phone and IP address that you used to create it. They have some pretty sophisticated software.

Interesting wasn't aware of this. I guess it's better to use images for posting things on Craigslist, compared to actual text? Atleast that way it goes under the radar of the system.

No, I always use text. I do use pictures too but not in the way you're thinking.

If you try to dupe the system, you're just going to wind up getting your ads flagged by humans. Its more important to know what you're doing wrong, then trying to beat the system.

I post dozens of ads everyday, and never have any problems.

This is called "ghosting" my friend and I am afraid that CL has your number. See #4 in my signature to learn how to get around "ghosting" and post at will on Craigslist.
          Hope this helps...Chris
ps...using this system I anonymously post close to 100 ads a day on Craigslist and quietly make an extremely good living doing it!

Either this or maybe your ads are getting ghosted because you are posting too much? Sometime craigslist can be a challenge..... but I do agree with the above quote and if you're done you may have to start completely fresh with a brand new account, cleared cookies, new phone, etc...

Sounds like you're spamming the Craigslist system. They are fed up with spammers and are pretty advanced with their filtering techniques.

  • I would say if you're not seeing anything they are probably intercepting them before they go live. Do you get the emails to have your post go live to begin with? I'd be interested to know if it's that your banned or it's a glitch. Why not email them and see what they have to say? Good luck either way.

  • Interesting,

I know they will filter out some specific words, so yes, use images is better than full text ads. You should be able to see your posts from your user account, and if they block an ad, usually you know it as you post it. If you never see ad, that is strange. I had competition report my ads constantly which created a problem which took months to square away, so good luck.
