What do you think if the best day to end a Flippa auction?

I've been thinking about this lately, and there are a few ways to look at it.

On a Friday, everyone has the day off but most people are probably outside of the house watching sporting events or doing errands.

On Saturday, same deal, however during the day it might be more likely that people are home than on a friday night.

Sunday night most people are home.

Monday to Thursday are all weeknights so you can expect people to be home, but you can't end the auction late because most people will have work the next morning.

I think Sunday afternoon or maybe a Thursday afternoon/night seems good.

My auctions on Flippa however have had varying results on different days. I've tried thursdays, fridays and sundays and I think the only one that failed was friday night (and once when I foolishly accedently had my auction ending at about 2am the night before a big holiday.)

You also have to take into account the time zone of your target market. If your target market is the USA, you might want to do a lateish time on the east coast, so that people on the west coast are also home from work and able to see your auction as it ends.

I have a listing going now and I am trying sunday night as the end time, I'm interested to see how it goes.. I think it will definately beat Friday night.

Have you found a particular day/time to be effective?

Before the weekend USA time for me, usually on Tuesday through Thursday. Here in the US, Friday is not a day off and often, neither is the weekend, but for the regular 9-5, Mon-Friday workers, the weekends are a time to get out and do real stuff and spend less time on the computer.

I think my most successful auctions have been on Thursday nights, if my Sunday night experiment doesn't go well I might try Thursday again next time.

When I was listing sites on eBay I would tend to see the best results having it end around 7:00-9:00PM Eastern on Sunday. I figured most people were winding down after a busy weekend and are on the computer. I've also noticed that people tend to be in better "buying moods" on the weekend. Even if the overall traffic is lower.

Just my personal experience. Could be different for others.

In my experience either a sat or sun. Or if you are into the adverstising on flippa then make sure your'e visible most of fri and sat and beginning of sun to get maximum exposure and then end it sun early eve perhaps, when people should be back from their days out.

    Hope this helps

Hey, thanks, that is helpful. Mine is ending in about an hour which is 10pm Eastern, perhaps it's better to try an earlier time on a Sunday evening. My auction has received more traffic then most of my other auctions, but received less bids! Strange lol

I might list my next site now then and try out an hour earlier.

I'm going to go $1 NR which I don't think I ever have. Should be interesting.

If you run the auction for one full week you will get exposure from all kinds of people, so you don't really have to worry about ending time, although Sunday at dawn may be somehow better.
