Hi,

Recently, my account for microsoft adcenter has been closed.

Here is the email response i got from the dept that is in charge of this matter.

Dear Advertiser,

Based on our investigation, your account will remain closed. Please understand that we treat unauthorized account access and billing as a very serious matter and we reviewed your case thoroughly before reaching our conclusion. The security checks we performed are in place to protect our advertisers and our customers.

Sincerely,

The Microsoft Advertising adCenter Team

I find this really insane because i only had my account for a week and i can't imagine what policy i might've broken. When I called in, the supervisors tell me what I already know and they also dont have the power to look at the reasoning behind why my account was closed. I asked if there was a way to contact the higher up supervisors that's in charge of this but they said no. Told me my best bet was to just respond to that email but i am not getting a response.

Is anyone familiar with this? If something like this happened to me, i expect it's very common and has happened to others as well. What will likely be the case in my situation? Is it safe to say that I'm done with adcenter? Will I be able to create another account?

This is a common problem for a lot of PPC publishers. Not only in adcente, this kind of problem in very common in adsense publishers too. They always keep the authority to close an account at any time without any excuse.

Ok, so this being a common problem is good to hear since now i know it's not only me that is suffering from this. But is there a solution to this? I really plan on being a big PPC advertiser and i can't if i'm unable to work with them. Let's say i do settle for something other than bing, what if i suffer the same fate?

Don't panic, if you have their ads on decnt sites that there is no reason why you they won't except you again. Can you try and contact them and explain what has happened and you confusion. This is common problem so i'm sure it can be fixed easily.

    Good luck with it!

Your answer is right there in bold. They have reason to believe that either 1. You gave fake billing/address information (opening an account in someone else's name) or 2. You had someone else open the account for you and then took it over (this would be my guess concerning what you did).

The rest of the email is pretty much saying "We caught you. We double checked and yep, we still caught you. Nice try though."

Thank you for making it so clear. But you know, that's what i thought the email meant. However, i know for a fact that none of the two are true. I did open this account myself and my information is 100% correct. I do not know where they might've gotten this information. Whatever they investigated was a very huge misunderstanding. The crazy thing is i would like to get on the phone with them and talk this over, but this isn't even an option.

Where are you from? Your location could be on a watchlist/blacklisted for them. I don't know, I don't pay much attention to Microsoft adcenter. This is assuming you are telling the truth. I don't want to question your character, but since the most we are going to get out of this is one side of the story I'm a little hesitant to just believe whatever you say.

[quote=joseph7384;6947808]Usually members come here complaining about adwords banning them but you where banned from Microsoft ad center, have you exhausted the use of Google.

My account has already been banned before i opened that thread. That could not have anything to do with it. I posted that thread just to find out if purchasing those kinds of gigs would be legit but i have never done anything with google adsense yet(i plan to soon though).

            Joseph,

I am not sure where you're going with that. I'm completely new to adsense and i asked those questions to make sure i know what what to expect before applying. I thought those were all valid questions.

But as of now, i'm concerned about my adcenter account and opened this thread mainly to see if you guys had solutions.

He's piggybacking what I was saying: your posts seem to show that you feel something about you or your situation will lead to you being banned (or never approved in the first place). The posts were talking about adsense but apply to your character in general.

Given the anecdotal evidence that we can gather from this site, and the email from Microsoft, it seems very likely that the situation I assumed is in fact correct and you are being less than forthcoming about your side of the situation.

Regardless, there isn't some magic answer to your problem, so we're all wasting time here. You're not going to get anything out of the thread and we only get mild entertainment pointing out the flaws in your story/logic.

Thanks for taking the time to write to me.

          Joseph,

I saw your post before u edited it asking me which statement was a lie. None of them were. I know you're a very bright person and a very experienced internet marketer. But everything that you read from my previous posts that seem suspicious just happens to be a coincidence. Those questions might seem stupid for me to ask but they were honest and i really wanted to know the answer.

But thanks for bringing that up, now i'll think twice before submitting my posts.

    Hi ChengDonald,

Something similar happened to me too but with Google's AdSense.
I signed up for AdSense ages ago but never actually used it till one day I've decided to put some ads on one of my blogs. I was just experimenting and never really advertise my blog and in some time I completely forgot abot it.
Imaging my surprise when I've got an email from Google saying that my AdSense account is terminated for improper use and that I broke some of their rules (they never stated what exactly I did, so still not sure) and that cannot be true because I never really used my account. They said they have a very sophisticated equipment and they don't make mistakes when I approached them. Yeah, sure. ...but I know I was penalised for something I've never done.
I guess it must be quite a few people with similar experience so you're not just the only one.
