I need help choosing an alternative to AWeber

Hey guys,
I'm posting here because I really need help switching to another email marketing company.

AWeber is currently breaking my email marketing budget, as it is costing me $200 a month (26,000 subscribers) and I am hardly sending out any emails. I really don't want to lose my list though...

So that being said, I'm looking for another company that will be cheaper. It would also be AWESOME to be able to park the account (not being able to send broadcasts) but still being able to gain subscribers.

Thanks a lot WarriorForum!

I use GlobalNPN for $10 per month for ONE unlimited list. I have tested it several times and my emails go to everyone in my list. PM me

The real question is why aren't you able to cover $200 with a list of 26,000 subscribers?

The reason I'm not making a lot off of it is because it's mostly age 13-20 males in the Xbox niche.

Anyone know some good offers/products to promote to them?

      Good luck with that.

Time ago, I've built a bunch of xbox related sniper sites and wasn't able to sell jack. Well, not exactly "jack", but did a sale out of every 500 very targeted visits or so. Switched products, still same results.

Thing is, most of what these products provide (fixes, cheats, codes, solutions..etc.), can be found for free if they do a simple google search.

These were CB products though. I've heard however that there are some good CPA offers for the niche these days.

Yeah, I thought about doing some CB products but the same issue came up. Most of that can be found for free on Google.
I could always TRY some CPA offers...but I'd have to find some decently converting ones.

The gaming niche is HUGE. You should be making a killing!

Create guides to games, Cheat sheets, Codes/Hacks, etc

Create a membership site/forum around popular games like COD. Charge $10/month.

      This niche is a goldmine!

So you've been sitting on a list, at $200 per month, and done nothing with them. To top it all off, you never had a monetization strategy in the first place?!

      I give up.

dude really? You're looking at it from entirely the wrong perspective...another email service provider...? Wtf.

If you've been in this game for any length of time...and seeing from your low posts...maybe this is bs...but...then you know that...on the average...every person on your list is worth about $1...and that's usually money monthly.

So if your list is that big...I don't know the niche and it doesn't really matter...but if your list is that big...then that equated to $26K...monthly.

    So paying your weenie $200 a month..is chicken feed...toilet paper money....right?

I mean if you just sent 1 promo to them every month....and only 3% converted to say a cpa offer that pays $3.50...well that's $2730.

    ...get the picture?

..and besides...changing your list over to a new service provider is pain....especially if your list already opted in..

I've experimented with some offers, but I never got good results.
While I CAN afford the $200 a month, I'm just not making much money off it right now.

What do you recommend I do?
What offers do well on email...I don't really want to spam my subscribers with "Make $4000 a month from home" crap.

With a list of 26,000 interested in the Xbox niche, you can offer them:

    a. XBox strategies....and cheats....in PDF...sell it for dirt cheap.

    b. check out offers at offervault.com and sign up to the networs and promote the offers (that permit emails) to your list.

    c. Post an ad in the warrior forum, selling solo ads to your niche

The above 3 tips will help you make at least $3,000 in a month...if you do it without bombarding your list with too much offers. ANd really...you won't have any problems paying aweber $200 out of that.

    Think big......Kick ass!

    You have nothing to lose.

Yeah, kids can beg their parents for cash, and if the amount they beg for is low, most of them will get it.

Offer strategy guides. That was a great example.
Offer a low registration for a free games site.
Offer a strategy guide on where and how to get the cheapest games.
Offer a guide on how to sell their old games for max profit so they can buy new games.

    Sell me your list. lol

I really don't get why people think it's some kind of rule that an email list is worth $1 per sub per month. There are WAY too many variables that affect the value of a subscriber. I highly doubt this list of 13 year old xbos is worth anything close. But yeah, OP, you should be able to at least cover the costs.

Have you considered hiring a VA to scour the web for relevant news and offers, and actually be in charge of writing a newsletter that you send out to the list? Might more than pay for itself several times over.

26k xbox users should EASILY pay your bill and your rent.

Make a newsletter telling of games being released and other related content OR if you are lazy, promote offers like:

    - ebooks on fixing the red light error
    - games and hardware on sale, with affiliate links. (amazon, walmart, etc.)
    - strategy guides
    - One form CPAs.
    - promote xbox related ring tones (games sounds)

    LOTS of ways.

I purchase based on "recommendation/deal" email lists all the time.

I know that not monetizing this has been stupid, but I don't really know much about email marketing to begin with.

I'm not asking this to be criticized...I'm simply asking for your opinions on what I should do with the list.

    Thank you!

Lets start with how you got the list, how did you get them to opt in?
Repeat the strategy used but with value.

It doesn't even have to be amazing, for a cheap product there's not gonna be that many refunds.

Not that simple. We know that the list is full of kids. He probably gave them a freebie to get them on that list, their whole reason for joining. What's the guarantee that they can (or would want to) get their parents to pony up money for a paid product?

We don't know the quality of what this OP gave them, or if they gave them anything at all. We don't know if the OP has even been emailing the list . Telling them to repeat the process could prove fatal to their "business" as it currently stands.

Try GVO. They start out at about $10 per month then you can upgrade with a one off payment to get 25,000 or 50,000 subscribers

Give me a shout if you do want to have a look and i'll send you my link

No one's mentioned Gamefly, although I know CPA was mentioned. Between Gamefly, Blockbuster, and Netflix, your CPA earnings should produce a very tidy sum. And Braincandy beat me to it with GVO.

    Ryder,

    Here is my advice.

Do not switch from aWeber to save money.

In my opinion and experiences, Aweber is easily the industry leader.

I have tried all of the services including infusionsoft.

Start adding value by sending out at least weekly broadcasts to your list.

There is no point in having their information if you're not going to share
    useful stuff with them.

    Be creative.

I see a lot of marketers using Office Autopilot lately.

But then again- some of them must've been given/sold my email address, as I never opted in and now I'm suddenly getting crap from randos.

But yeah- if you can't make $200 with a list of 26K subscribers, you're doing something VERY wrong.

$200 a month? Dag... are you making any money from them? If not, why aren't you selling more to your list? Hopefully you got some high priced products.

Why are you hardly sending out any emails.

I would suggest, joining another service, but figure out how to make Aweber profitable.

Also give them a call and ask for a price break.

I have used Aweber and Getresponse, both good services. In my opinion the best deal out there is CreatePureLeverage.com 10k subscribers for 24.95 month, plus it includes video email and 100 person conference room

I'd also stick with Aweber and try to monetize this better, 26k may be a bit unrealistic for your niche but it should at least make your money back and then some each month.
