0900.am or 9amstart.com?

I'm putting together a new website called 9:am and have registered two domains -

0900am and 9amstart.com

I'd be very interested to hear your opinions. Which do you think would be best?

    • I'm assuming you've already checked 9am.com? Try to keep it to a .com, since most people are now familiar with that ending.

    Can't say either are particularly memorable or catchy, but if forced to choose I would opt for the second. Anything with a 'dot' midway through the name is a no-no.

    Of those two, for myself I think I'd use 9amstart.com, for two main reasons ...

    (i) I'd be worried about losing type-in traffic with "0900.am" because people aren't familiar with the .am domain extension, will remember it as 0900am.com (you could perhaps register that too, if available, and redirect it to yours? And if it isn't available, you wouldn't want to use yours anyway, perhaps?), and so on, and ...

    (ii) I'd be worried that "0900.am", though it will doubtless rank better on searches made from Armenia, might be a bit harder to rank with on Google.com (if SEO is relevant to you, that is).
  • Thanks very much for your feedback. Will go with 9amstart.com for now and look to buying 9am.com if things take off!
