Help with email marketing

Hi Warriors.

I've got a decent opt-in list I've loaded onto mail chimp, but email marketing has never been my thing up to now.

Anyone got some advice on how to structure the campaign? I've got 7 emails written up giving a freebie that leads to a subscription package.

Anyone got some wisdom to share or care to review the emails for me?

    Hi,

Sounds like you have the basics set up.

Would suggest scheduling your follow-up emails to go out in sequence a few days apart so you are not "swamping" your subscribers.

See how they react, tweak at necessary, build a relationship with your list, treat them like royalty and away you go.

    Good luck with it.

    Andy.

Check out the "Terms of Service" for Mailchimp. I don't believe they are friendly towards affiliate marketing. I started out with them but moved to getresponse.com

They are not, Mailchimp is not good for affiliates.

        Thats putting it mildly.

Affiliate marketing (and many other things Warriors do!) are expressly prohibited by their terms of service. If you do it/them at all, and they find out, they'll close your account. And they say openly that they'll do so even if you don't use their service to do it/them.

Be clear about this, people: many Warriors have had closed accounts and lost lists there.

It isn't "doing affiliate marketing (or anything else prohibited - there's a huge list in their terms of service!) at Mailchimp" that they prohibit: it's doing it/them anywhere. They just don't want customers who ever do any affiliate marketing, or promote "make money" products or MLM or any of the other stuff they prohibit - and they say so loud and clear, and they act on it loud and clear as well. :p

    Provide value in every email.

    Provide a call to action.

    Make it about them.

Offer something they can put to use.

DON'T SEND EMAILS DAILY OR EVERY OTHER DAY.

There have been times that I have signed up for something thru the War Room and all of a sudden I'm getting emails daily. That is frustrating.

    Hi Kreator,

One thing which I think is important and not mentioned enough is to sit down and create a subscriber persona - whom do you want to reach? What do they do? What would be of interest to them? How would you add value to their day?

I always preach that it's not so important what your product does, but what people do with it. Tell those stories -- show people how you can help them overcome a challenge, solve a problem etc.

For the most part, good content isn't anything more than good answers to the questions people are asking. Find out (use Google for example) what those questions are an then answer them.

    Regards,
    jim

Totally agreed with you Jim and not for the first time. When I see you regularly posting and seeing how you're a member of the WF family makes me realise where are Aweber, they're losing customers from this Forum by the droves and i'm one of them who've made at least a partial switch to Get Response thanks to you.

      Enjoy the warrior event!

Gee Joel...How do I respond to that without sounding like Sally Field accepting her Oscar?

Whenever I'm having one of those days (which isn't often), it seems someone here posts something like this and you make everything thing I do so worth it.

It sounds as if you won't be at Warrior Live event and that's too bad. I would have enjoyed shaking your hand. I have a lot of hands to shake and say thank you to at this one because I'm so grateful for the good people here who make me feel a part of this community.

Yeah it would have been great to meet you there but unforunately i'm in London and I can't just fly off to Orlando at that time. However, it will for sure be awesome and Kudos for you guys playing such a big role in it.

          Enjoy

Two suggestions: One: You may want to tease them in each email....ie, In just a few days I've got something incredible that I'll have to send you to see what you think.

Two: The best autoresponder I've got says this:

'Hi ! I just wanted to make sure you didn't have any questions about using UBot Studio?

Please let me know if you do.

    Thanks,

    Seth'

It looks different than the other responders - it's quick, it's simple, and it's personal. It does not mention their name, but it asks how they are doing. It comes on day two or three. Use it. It works. People assume you are actually talking to them. When they email you back, RESPOND. You will make a subscriber for life.
