How Many Warriors Create Their Own Products/

I'm curious to see how many Warriors create their own products.

Any eBook writers out there?

Video makers?

Song writers?

Anything?

Is it just PLR for you guys?

I create my own products and was just curious. Thanks.

A lot of warriors create their own products.
Along with affiliate marketing which is pretty profitable once you get a good list; creating your own products can give a nice income and creates an authority figure for yourself.

Myself, I write books on personal development (personal experience mostly), ebooks and guides on Internet marketing for beginners and a few other niches.

Also I do videos from time to time.

    Matt,

I have a few ebooks that I have wrote and created on my own, that I sell online (see my signature below) and I also own an offline pizza discount card business where I produce and sell them as incentive gifts and for fundraisers.

    All the best,

    Martin

So if you guys had to guess...

What would be the percentage of Internet Marketers that actually create their own products?

I will start it off by saying only 5% of all Internet Marketers actually create their own products....and by that I mean 100% original products...not reconstituted PLR.

There are so many "Internet marketers" out there, you can't even see the end of the line. Most don't bother to put in some decent work, so perhaps not even 0.5% create an original and worthy product.

But most actual, successful marketers craft at least one or two products in their career. Original ones, I mean. Usually relating to their own online experience.

I'm not sure what percentage and I'm not going to speculate. However, I will say that a lot of the guys at the top probably don't create their own products in the sense of the actual process. I guess they develope the idea of the product and outsource the creation of it.

In terms of PLR I do still think that there is a lot of original products out there. I say this because even if a product is created from a sample of PLR the creator can diversify the finished product in many ways and make it into something total different from the original.

    Hi Matt,

I create SEO tutorial videos which I suppose are a product except I give them away for free on my blog.

I did consider turning my link building tutorial series into a paid product but I chose to give it away free and build long term trust with my visitors instead of fleecing them out of cash from square 1.

    Hey Matt,

I've created ebooks, video courses, membership sites and a bunch of many other things in the industry. Thanks for asking this question. Just writing this post has made me realise what a long way I've come, HA!

Also would like to point out that I believe there is a correlation between creating your own products and being successful online. Most newbies fail because there are scared to "GET ALL IN." To any newbies reading this. Don't be scared to create your own products. If you get negative feedback for it thats ok. Why? Because you will learn what your audience does not like. Get it? The important thing is you get going. Also creating your own products give you authority if you possition yourself properly. You can't buy authority/perception. It's one attribute that can separate you from your competition.

      Great Post.

That is exactly right!! You have to start somewhere.

I'm sure Leonardo Da Vinci himself created some pretty bad paintings when he first started.

The trick is to never give up and keep practicing. You will get better.

Hmm, good point. After second thought, I revise my estimate.

I'm going to lower my guess to 1 percent.

1% of the Internet Marketers out there that have made at least 1 dollar, have created original works.

    Over or Under 1%....??

Statistics that are made up are pretty worthless. There are literally tons of IMers in this forum that create dynamite, unique products ranging from info products to software/plugins, memberships, graphics, videos, offline products ... you name it.

So I guess by your standards, opinions and estimates are worthless?

My question was not to slight anyone or put "damaging" false stats out there..Just a playful post to see what other people thought.

Where did I say opinions are worthless? Estimates based on nothing and statistics based on nothing but a "feeling" are worthless.

My estimate is based on educated opinion and far from worthless.

At least I'm willing to make share my "worthless" estimate.

I ask myself why you felt the need to point out my "worthless" estimate?

Sorry if you find my opinion to be worthless or offensive, but it's my opinion none the less. Estimates and statistics that are based on nothing but opinion, are ... opinion and not real estimates or statistics. You can call them an estimate or a statistic, but that doesn't make them so.

You joined the forum in Aug 2012, and based on your experience, most Warriors put out rehased garbage PLR products.... and that is based on what data? What experience? Oh, just your opinion? How did you come by that?

I've bought hundreds of WSOs from well respected Warriors and I have a 99% success rate at purchasing dynamite products that I use in my business for ... often years to come.

But then I don't just randomly browse the WF looking for get rich quick schemes. I buy products that will enhance my own business or info products that cover an area of interest that I am not as knowledgeable in as I would like to be.

I referenced above all the mentions of PLR in your previous quotes. I both and sell PLR products and those are products that are sold as original PLR, created by the seller. They are some of the best and most time saving products that I buy.

So, if you're not talking about the WF specifically, and talking about all Internet Marketers, that makes an accurate guess of who makes their own original products even less feasible. All Internet Marketers would encompass Amazon, Walmart, Lowes, Sears ... well, you get the picture ... every single business on the Internet, so that would make the percentage of all Internet Marketers who sell PLR so minute that it doesn't even bear mentioning.

Do you have a specific problem with PLR products? What makes you think that a PLR product is not unique ... that the seller didn't create a unique PLR product, or are you talking about sellers who create a product from PLR and call it unique, such as an info product that is, as I said, basically just rehashed material?

To be perfectly clear, I never said PLR was a bad thing. I never alluded that I had a "problem" with it either.

I was simply asking other member of this forum for their "opinion" on what they thought the percentage was for completely original products. End of story.

There is no true data out there and I was curious to hear what other marketers on this forum thought about it. That's it...nothing more, nothing less...no PLR conspiracy here

Why do you keep acting so offended? You started a topic and mentioned PLR in most of your posts, so I am trying to get at the point of your question.

It's called a debate and it's what happens on public forums.

You just seemed to be a little unclear about a couple of things...I simply clarified them for you.

I never meant for this thread to turn into a debate, and I don't see where there was cause for one, but I have been working 20 hours straight trying to make a deadline, so I could have missed it

I have several of my own products which have been produced over the past 10 years or so.
My first was a comprehensive eBook first produced probably 11 years ago now and which is still selling very well - it's of a particular technical subject and something I know quite a lot about - I was made up when I sold 5 in the first week !
I think the best way is NOT to come up with a "Me too" product but to write about something you know about and it does'nt need to be a mega production as even a well written 20 page offering can, even if not for sale, be used as an inducement to sign up to your list which, as we all know, can be very profitable if you have a good targeted audience.
I have several "product lines" comprising eBooks, video's and several continuity/membership sites but always aimed at a particular subject so each line builds up to a comprehensive, and for want of a better word, authority site.

I produce all the eBooks, although some are thoroughly re-written PLR products, and video's. I've found the sport and health / diet niches to be particularly profitable marketing selected Clickbank and Amazon products.

                  Cool man!

I have not tried my hand at rewriting PLR, although I have been thinking about it.

I'm nervous that it will take me longer to rewrite it than just write it from scratch

Is it just PLR for you guys?

I create my own products and was just curious. Thanks.

    Hey Matt

1.) Yeah I've written and published a number of ebooks - I find they're quite a nice way to bring in some income - they do take a bit of a time investment but once they're up and running they can be good revenue (I've paid for a couple of trips to Amsterdam for myself and my brother using ebook revenue alone).

*NOTE - the majority of my sales come from my "101 tips to get WORSE at Call of Duty" book - this is a mass market. I have a number of other books out that don't sell any at all! lol.

    Places to publish:-
    1.) Amazon KDP
2.) Smashwords: this distributes to a LOT of retailers + retails books itself
3.) Make Your Offer: this allows members to bid on ebooks

Nothing on the song / video front (I could try but I really wouldn't sell anything ha!).

Anything else? yeah I've just started developing WordPress plugins, my first one I released this week *woop*.

I'm hoping to put a WSO for it very soon but I don't want people to see my low post count and think I'm not a serious member (which I am), so I'm trying to contribute a bit more to the forum first.

I sell premium WordPress Themes and Plugins direct and through CodeCanyon.

Looking to grow affiliate partners and learn how best to market my products.

Wow...cool man! I love the book title. It makes me curious as to what it is about. Do you actually teach them how to get worse?

I have to check out Smashwords too, thanks.

I have dabbled with music too, but will never release that to the public...haha

And PLR stands for Private label rights. Its a license where the author sells most or all of the intellectual property rights to their work.

Don't worry, I've been around awhile and still trying to figure out how to maximize my use of PLR.
I might be buying a WSO soon actually to find out the best practices when it comes to using it. I was so used to just creating material from scratch, but I'm now expanding my niches, so it may be time to speed up the process a little bit.

So if anyone reading this has a good recommendation..shoot it to me. thanks

It's easy to create your own ebooks and products, and then you can sell them on your site, clickbank, or as a WSO.

I always create my own, have used PLR but you would never know what it came from as I only use it for ideas, everything about it becomes a different product. As for the percentage who do, that's a difficult one. I do know an awful lot who don't though.

    Enjoy the journey.

    Hi Matt,

I have written and sold several e-books and videos. I am also a songwriter. Oh, and I also create and sell PLR for other people to use. Plus, I have ghostwritten several titles as well.

In the beginning, I struggled like everyone else. I tried selling other people's products but didn't do very well...at all. Then it dawned on me that creating my own products would be more profitable, and that proved to be true.

Once that initial success took hold, I noticed that I was doing much better at selling other people's products, too.

    All the best,
    Michael
