I went to a site called e-dns.org and checked to see if my clients domain was blacklisted and it was. How do i get there domain/IP off the blacklist?? Is there a company that provides this type of service?? Whats the easiest way to handle this?

  • You need to contact either the provider of the IP address in question or the blacklist company itself. (by blacklist company I mean who runs the blacklist)

    • If i contact the IP provider, what do i say? "Can i be removed?" and how bout if the blacklist company dosent have a contact form or a remove from blacklist option??

  • Okay..so when contacting the IP provider..just ask them to be removed? Or if i contact the web host...ask them to be removed and provide a explanation why i need to be removed?

Which one is the easiest & fastest to get handled? and what should the explanation be? I work with alot of local businesses and i dont know how they would have got blacklisted..so i dont know what explanation to give them..lol..sorry if the questions im asking are crazy..just never delt with this before and i really want to help my client.

    • No problem..

You'll need to contact your web host first and tell them the IP is on a blacklist. Are you getting some sort of mail bouncebacks or something? If you're not, I personally wouldn't worry about it.

If you're continuing to have blacklist issues with your current web host, I'd suggest moving to a new host that has clean IP blocks.

Here's a link to information that tells you what to do if it's listed in these spam databases, but I imagine that if it's blacklisted for spam, it's not going to be easy to remove
