People often rewrite plr or they may use an idea or a magazine article for inspiration and then do a bit of research and off the go

well what about forum posts you have written... let's say you have been a member of a sports forum or a sci-fi forum or whatever - then is it feasible that you could take 200-300 posts that you have personally written in that forum on a particular niche/subject and tidy it up a bit so it is coherent? I mean would amazon penalise you for duplicating content already on a web forum even if it is your own words that you are using. I just need clarification on that one please!

They don't care if it's your own words or not. What they care about is unique content. So if it was written by you, and is already posted in another location on the web, if you repost the same exact thing on your site, search engines will view it as non-unique material.

Now, that isn't to say that you can't take some blog posts, rearrange some words and phrases, tailor it for a different product, etc. You can create at least semi-unique content from your previously written work. It's not as good as 100% unique, but it's not as bad as 100% copied

    Hey Nathan,

    Hypothetically speaking..

I imagine that it would take quite a bit of editing and formatting to
turn those forum posts into a coherent book..

Then you would probably come up with great "new" title for your book,
    as well..

Maybe you could even add an "impressive" cover for your book..

And by doing this in, a way that your story flows and your readers
    get "value" from it..

Amazon, would be hard pressed faulting you, in fact you'd probably do such a great job, they might even put you on their best sellers list..

I would go for unique content but with maybe a few rephrased personal forum posts. If you think that the content you'd like to present is valuable then go for it

The only issue that Amazon might have with your strategy is that what is in your book must not be "freely available" somewhere else online.

Now, if you took those 300 posts and used them as an outline to write a completely new product, there would be no problem, because they will not be able to find any sentences or paragraphs duplicated anywhere online for free.

I agree completely with what TPW said above.

The best approach in my opinion would be to do as TPW suguests and use your current forum/blog post content as the outline for the ebook.

Once you have collected all your information together, and you have all of your previous ideas and comments in front of you, it should become a little easier to outline a product and fill in the content by re-writing what you said on the forum's but in different words.

      Peace,

I don't know how you do this either--Collect forum posts and compiling into an e-book. My forum posts aren't that brilliant (as you can see

Instead of just copying and pasting the exact wordings, why don't you paraphrase them? Like what our fellow Warrior said above, Amazon does not care if those posts are yours or not.

Make sure the forum you've been posting to doesn't have a TOS that says everything you post belongs to them.
