Hey,
I have a Domain with Go daddy. and the hosting was from HostGator.
But I don't want to continue it anymore. Is there any way I can put it in some free hosting providers? Can you please suggest this matter?

Free = unreliable. What don't you want to continue? Having the website or paying for services?

Yes, I'd argue strongly against using any type of free hosting. Alot of places that offer free hosting will just try to sell you on services anyways. You can get it from a reliable company for just a few bucks a month. That said, I'm not sure if there's a way to discontinue Godaddy hosting until the time period that you signed up for is over.

Don't bother with free hosting. You'll get what you (don't) pay for......

Good, reliable fully-featured hosting is available from any nuber of providers for next to nothing.

    Best,

    Andy.

Instead of using a free hosting site i will suggest you create a free wordpress blog and continue with that.

Free hosting often have lots of ads on your site which will be a big minus for your traffic, no serious business owner will want to use that.

Free hosting is free for a reason. It sucks.

And yet, in spite of all the very reasonable opinions above, there are also some reliable, safe, secure, very long-established free hosts, whose business model involves impressing new customers so much with the limited range of free hosting services that they'll stay there in the long term, gradually buying additional upgrades. And a very successful business model that can be, too. Those hosts typically don't put any of their own advertising on your pages: not even a little button saying "Get your free site with ...".

You might want to look at Byethost, 000WebHost, Freehostia, and others often recommended here.

I know people who've been using free hosting at Byethost for 6 - 7 years and are very pleased with them.

Overall, it's doubtless true that free hosting is less reliable than paid-for hosting. Make sure that you check independent, non-incentivized reports of their reliability, before trusting one.

Alternatively, hostica.com has a good reputation, and they charge only $1 per month for hosting one site, which doesn't really break anyone's bank.

You can just cancel the domain and hosting - and walk away from it?
