Does Having A Google+ Profile For Your Business Improve Your Search Rankings?

I'm doing a social network marketing push for my product, yet I don't know much about the value Google+ can provide. Plus, I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to SEO. Does having a Google+ profile improve the credibility of your regular website with Google at all, and will it help your regular website's SEO?

Thanks,

It does give you the author bio if you set it all up correctly. Which can really grab a lot of extra clicks when on page one for busy keywords.

    For example:

    https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&....1.MjcaLSIV_jE

As far as actual weight the Google+ account gives the target site, I honestly couldn't tell you. As much as Google loves their own property, I wouldn't be surprised if it did impact rankings. However, I don't have any hard data to back that up.

      Robert,

Ah! I was just looking at author photos in search results today and wondering how they got those in there. Fantastic. That's a nice touch. Still curious if it helps the target site. I have a feeling that it might too...
