niche/keyword research steps for amazon review sites - do i have this right?

i'm a noobie starting w/ amazon review sites, and i'm ready to take action. instead of first figuring out all the steps, i'm gonna go through the various phases one at a time and implement them. i realize i may have a better shot if i first had the overarching understanding of all the phases, but at the same time that may delay the action processes.

so for now i'm trying to figure out the optimal keyword, niche, domain research and selection steps. after doing a bit of research, here's what i came up with for myself. please, for who know about this stuff, what am i missing? is any of this either outdated or non unnecessary? are there other important aspects i need to look at?

my understanding for picking a niche is to select it based on low competitive and buying potential:

* first select an idea by hand-picking it through brainstorming and browsing amazon.
* next, check to see if that niche and related keyword(s) has low competition and buying potential.
* low competition: short of having market samuri, go w/ seo quake and see if the keyword has top 10 google results with at least a couple PR 0s.
* buying potential: see if there are advertisers, and also search through adwords to make sure the keywords are priced high. make sure the keyword has many (how many?) minimum monthly searches
* lastly - before building the promoting the site - getting a domain name. after completing the above steps and fining a niche / keywords that match those requirements, find a domain name .com, .org, or .net which contains a major keyword in that niche with no spaces or dashes.

do i have this right? are there other ways of picking a niche? are there other ways of determining low competition? what exactly is the keyword - just the niche name pretty much or the niche with peripheral "best" "cheapest" "top" "reviews"? should the review site be based around the niche versus a specific product?

    Hi, csrpj

You are doing very well csrpj. But here is something, I would recommend you.

1, Build a LIST. You need to catch him! It is like customer come to your site and he will never come back, but with the list he can! If you got his e-mail address, you can give him what he needs, wants.

2, Your SEO is fantastic, targeted traffic and give them what he search, if it is review of some product, give them review and you will have a lot of success.

3, For better conversions on your sites, you could use the videos. It has high perceive value. It increase conversion sometimes more than 15-35%. Customers loves the videos.

4, If you want a good niche, it is all about market. Do not focus on the product. If market something wants, just bring them in front of them with a lot of value! That's all. Give them more more more than competition for very good price.
How to find market quickly? Well, check the ads everywhere and you will see that there is a lot of ads for dating niche, health and beauty niche, fitness niche, investments niche, making money niche. Go to click-bank and just check the gravity of the products, you will get the bestsellers on the market. The good value is around 30, if you want something to sell, but there are products with more than 200!

    5. Low competition is: three and more words in your keyword. Targeted keyword, and SEO on page, like title, description, keywords on the blog, pages like Privacy Policy, About Us, Contact Us, Terms o Use and Off page which is back-links from authority sites!

    6. Using words in your keywords like, cheap, top, review, the best are for review sites for any product, which is very high potential that the customer will buy it, because he wants review of particular product!

    7. I would build "review site based around the niche" Build a blog with big value about your niche and than review your products.

    8. It must be helpful brother! Finger crossed!
