How to Promote Fiverr Gigs

by Cicak
109 replies
Hi guys,

Last week I made $70 from Fiverr and only joined a few weeks back. However, I haven't had many orders for a few days now and I was wondering how I can promote my gigs, I don't have many followers on Twitter or anything like that so it's not a viable option for me.

Any suggestions?

Someone ran an ad in the WF classified section with a money back offer for 5 persons in return for reviews. Could be a good way to start up.

Downside of course is that sometimes people just don't bother coming back with a review.

I have the reviews, I have like 14 on one of my gigs, and 1 spread out on 3-4 other gigs. The sales have just dropped completely and I need to promote my gigs.

I think your choice to create a thread here and some replies will be able to bring visitors to your Gig.
If you don't have followers on Twitter, then follow other people and do any ways to get your targeted followers.

Also, join the Fiverr group on LinkedIn, plus start adding other sellers' gigs to your Fiverr "collected gigs", which come up in searches. People will add you to their own collections and you'll start to get some sales that way.
Make sure you use the full 1200 word description box for your gig and use plenty of keywords, both main and long tail. Change the keywords in the keywords field to test different search terms; Do the same with your title.
    Hope that helps!

Just a thought: You might want to change your signature from "click my fiverr gigs" to something more specific.
Tell them specifically what you are offering.
People don't want to buy a fiverr gig, they want to buy a service, and most people will be too lazy to click on that signature to check out what your gigs are.

As stated above, you need to add a graphic to your sig and put in some more details about the services you offer.

Then spend about half an hour a day posting useful comments on here in relevant areas of the forum.

This will get a few visitors to your gigs to begin with, but the effect compounds over time.

The thing to remember with this is not to spend too long doing it and don't spam.

Make use of the new search functions and sub sections.

If you have a blog then make sure you that a link to your fiverr profile is prominent.

Ask you customers for feedback, if they tweet about your gig it will be brilliant social proof.

The real quick way would be to get on the featured gigs on the front page, but no idea how to do that.

Whenever you get a positive feedback, your gig jumps at the top of the "Auto" category, so buying your gig a few times using other different accounts may be a nice and solid idea.

Just a quick tip... I'm not sure how good your tags are but you may want to consider optimizing your tags to the max. This may help bring you some targeted traffic. I remember when i first started on Fiverr, i had 2 Tags and that's it. A couple weeks after, i added the max amount of tags. I'm not sure if the following result was directly caused by my actions but very soon after that, i was getting 2 - 3 orders a day at least....just thought i'd bring this up. Sorry if it doesn't help.

    Wishing you the Best.

You can go the the best-selling gig in your category, then click the buyers one by one from the most recent to the oldest, see which one is also a seller, and contact them telling "hey, I saw that you recently bought a gig in X category (your category) - just want to let you know I am offering a much better, similar service:"
    and then your link.
You will be surprised of how well this converts

Putting a video on you tube is a good idea, but you might get lost in the mix. Best idea is to promote from your own web pages. Please remember that you need to rank high to get exposure. Bro, top three positions grab over 66% of traffic from search engines.

Also, I checked out your gigs. Bro, you are lacking an avatar image. Please add one. Get people to rate you. A lot of your gigs are na. Here is a good one to promote - I will test every link on your website/blog/forum to ensure everything works for $5.

you can buy your gig by different accounts and give a positive feedback helps you a lot..and if you are able to convince your some fiverr friends to help you by buy your gigs and left a +ive feedback then it's also fine....or promote your gigs from your facebook, twitter and g+ accounts is also good...as you write that you don't have many followers on twitter, then you may buy followers from fiverr also and then promote it...

I realized a sudden drop in sales as well and I think this is
because of the new categories system they just implemented.

Me too!... I've only been selling on Fiverr for about 7 weeks, but I was cruising along, then all of a sudden, I noticed a steep decrease in sales, even though my feedback was very good.

I'm hoping maybe the cause is the new category system or something... I've been wracking my brain, trying to figure out why the flow of traffic slowed so much.

When Fiverr first rolled out the category changes at the start of September, a lot of people got a decrease in traffic and orders. Even the ones who had been diligent enough to add their gigs into the correct sub-category.

The good news is that, after a lean 10 days or so, stuff was coming back to normal. Now it is as it was before. At least for me, anyway.

The most important way to stand out from the competition on fiverr is to get a video that explains your services--brand yourself personally. There are many similar services on fiverr--what makes you stand out is the unique spin that you put on your gig.

The title of your gig should be keyword rich -AND explain precisely what benefits the BUYER is getting from using your services.

Your description is KEY. The description is where your are given an opportunity to explain why the buyer should choose you over someone else. In the section, try to communicate to the prospect that they are getting way more value than anywhere else--that this is a LIMITED time offer on fiverr; and that your services or product is available for WAY MORE elsewhere.

Finally, give away something-a BONUS of sort, or the bribe--whichever you want to call it.

When i first joined Fiverr last year, i didnt make much. I would get an order every blue moon. But the last two weeks my gigs were hitting fairly hard (it slowed down the last couple days now). I think reviews help boost your gig up in search results. Plus, i contacted Fiverr about being featured. After emailing back & forth a few times, they put one of my gigs on the home page. It still wasnt featured, but i did notice a huge difference once it was on there. It didnt last long though (maybe a day and a half tops). As they added other users to the home page, my gig listing kept dropping lower and lower below the "loading more" link. The key is to be on the home page. I would actually like Fiverr to add an option to buy a top spot. At least you'll know for sure you'll get some orders (if your gig is good enough).

The gig they put on the home page was for a resume which is pretty general. So my advice is to ask Fiverr to add your gig to the home page. But, the gig should be unique and attractive to the general public. If your gig is for one specific niche, you may not get as many orders. Thats just my opinion though. Good luck!

First of all, try to bring clients the best quality of service as possible so they can leave good feedback to your Gig and collect it as well as leave the gig a big star

Then get your gig promoted via video marketing service, backlink building, etc to help it get ranked on the first page.

I sell a lot on fiverr and can tell you this:

Intrepret each gig you create like a wordpress post , where you need to do:

      Keyword research
      SEO Optimized title
      SEO Optimized description
      Highly relevant tags
      Make a video
Make a Faqs video in youtube and share it in Fiverr

This will help you to rank. But you will need a lot of 5 stars reviews to be on the top...the higher the competition , more reviews you will need... I would aim to have at least 40-50 reviews...

    Hello Mate

The surge of sales comes as its a new gig and you will be in the top position at that point for a while so that tells me you got an awesome offer or sales page.

I make all my sales by offering my services on craigslist and writing one article a week for ezine with a redirect to my gig.

I enjoy what I do and so my customer service is exceptional and top notch. My buyers have bought gigs to promote my gig as a thank you. I get one of those say every two weeks. Great stuff innit.

Treat your buyers with respect. If they are not happy. Don't tell them "tough shit" but work to an agreement.

All this "fiverr support" and keep an eye on.

I started last year with fiverr and gave up in march this year due to family. I was only a level 1 seller.

I then started again on the 28th Septemer and now am a Top Rated Seller and I only got two gigs.

    Take care matey

I would send messages to other fiverr sellers that offers related gigs, not the same but something related that should be an interest for the same audience, suggesting to recommend his gig to your clients in the delivery messages and you would do the same. You could easily make a JV like that with quite a few sellers and start getting targeted buyers traffic to your gigs...

My all fiverr gigs are regularly updated with any new info, any extra stuff provided to buyers with the same or additional gig....

This helps to keep the Gig listed on the recent page & buyers do catch those listings first as per my past experience with Fiverr.com...

  • One thing to help make Fiverr Promote you more is to actually fill out your profile.
If you dont have an identity, how do you expect to gain level 1, level 2, and then top seller?

Just summarizing all the excellent tips from the warriors that I'll be following:

    1. Twitter (following people tweeting a certain keyword) -aw4248 -socialmediaowls
    2. Social Bookmarking - aw4248
    3. Facebook advertising - creativistenterprise
    4. Craigslist - huester
    5. Ezine article -huester
    6. Forum posting on relevant threads -Mark72
    7. Youtube video - think more

I also read from another warrior to get customers from similar gigs by sending them a message.

    Thanks guys!

In my opinion, also if all the suggestions above are very interesting, the way for have a Gig well exposed depends by the will of Fiverr's administrators. In other words, for me, there must be some mechanism with they "get some fiverr more exposed than other". If some Gig of mine is present just in "Recent & Search" , it never will have a good chance of working, unless by a stroke of luck.

There are some good ideas here for promoting fiverr gigs including really good posts like that of huester (#58) but I do have a question.

I have considered using fiverr as a means not of making money but of getting clients. This is because I cannot see how getting people to fiverr gigs is enough on its own to build a solid income, given some of the crazy offers some people are making on there, so I am assuming that most people are using fiverr to build leads. Is that right?

Otherwise it seems that people are having to put in a lot of effort to promote gigs that deliver at best a marginal income stream. Could that same effort (and the same techniques) not be better applied to selling elsewhere?

I ask this as a novice when it comes to fiverr and would welcome someone telling me that there is a real income to be made.

Also remember when you have a new fiverr gig, it does not hurt to get the ball rolling with PPC. That is how I do it, to get momentum, you do not have to spend $100 a week, because you will not be making any money.

But here is the thing, give away a little money first to get some orders coming through using ppc, bing, 7search, and yes you will lose a bit of money. But then momentum comes, and if you are selling something good, you will get repeat customers, others will see your reviews, and soon the momentum comes, then you turn off your ppc ads.

This is what I do, lose a bit of money initially, but our highest selling fiverr gigs do well this way. I do not care how much I lose on the initial phase, because i know I have a good offer, and once it catches on, and the my orders start to increase and get heaps of good reviews, the ads are turned off, and the momentum is purely "fiverr only" momentum, which is insanely good.

    1. Get your facebook likes and twitter shares up as much as possible.
    2. Use other fiverr gigs, or socialadr to get more facebook likes and twitter shares
    3. Create a highly tagged video for youtube, post it on a channel that is already getting a lot of views.
    4. Search youtube for videos of people promoting videos similar to yours that have a lot of views. Look at their presentation, and see what their video tags.
    5. If you follow best practices for creating a video for your fiverr gig (not too long, say fiverr.com multiple times, have fiverr on the screen) it will help you to get to featured seller status.
    6. Use socialadr bookmarking to get your fiverr page bookmarked and linked to.

    Hope this helps!

Create a general gig that can have many applications ("I will create graphics" or "I will write"), then do keyword research of low competition terms for those applications. Then write in niche forums, blog posts, Web 2.0 properties, videos, etc about doing graphics of X, or writing on Y niches.

Leave the gig url, and this should draw both search engine and follow through link traffic to it, that kind of thing. Since fiverr urls aren't affiliate links, they should be permissable for use on most article directories and youtube upload annotations as well.

I created a YouTube video for my Fiverr gig and it attracted attention.
I would create 2 videos - One for YouTube and one you can embed in Fiverr itself.
Also promote it anywhere you can - your blog, signature, Facebook, email etc.

Fiverr has their own traffic network and its huge. Check out what gigs people are spending money on and look at the top performers and just copy them. I don't really have much time for fiverr any more but back in the day I way earning over $1,200 per month with just one gig that I was getting 4 dollars for. Crazy! and the convcrsions to my other products from within my gig I gave them was pretty good as well.

g maybe I should go back and optimize that a little better....

Create a blog about your Fiverr gigs. Post daily contents targeting your customers. Get visitors to your blog from search engines. Put a banner on your blog that you provide service through Fiverr.

You can also start a Facebook page. But the best would be building a blog. You can also try advertising.

First of all I must say that there is no secret to getting followers on Twitter. If you can tell me what is your twitter Id . I can check and help you what you can do so that you get followers on regular basis. You do not need any bot to do this. Just be yourself and the followers will flow in!

I have a photo gig where I turn people's portraits into goulish pix. zombies or vampires mostly. when someone posts their new pic as their profile pic, others want to know where they got it, so I get referrals. I message friends on fb and tell them about the gig. when they order, I know I'll be getting referrals.

so, I don't just post to fb, I also send out messages to key friends who I think will like the gig

be vigilant on the " request a gig ". I am a buyer and getting turned off by fiverr sellers.
    first of all when I post " request a gig ' I am hoping the sellers would have the decency to read what I want;
NO I am getting totally irrelevant orders ( primarily by sellers who want to sell me bot traffic; and by sellers who have a 100% cancellation rate ). gosh who has this type of energy to ploy thru these resonses ?

    second; my experiences.
i bought cpa signup offers; of course only bot delivery; my network cannot confirm.
seller who using scraper and putting in all types of email address. seller wants 2 cancel ( fake gig ).
my next experience with a video involving a link.
the seller is giving me a video with again irrelevant video subjects, deodorants, soap, etc that have nothing to do with my link and what i need. this is for ( 3 ) videos.
sorry i am rambling on and on. but i am thinking is fiverr for real ?
i will soon need to hire an assistant to help me manage all these irrelevant gigs !

are there REAL sellers ? anyone posting on warrior forum about fiverr gig i am taking a look.
sellers read what happens to a typical buyer. i am researching everyday but i am getting turned off.

Submit a press release to press release sites for every gig you have. Create short report about your gig and offer it to your website in exchange of their email address so that you can follow-up later asking if they want your gig. Also in your short report, put something like "you free to share this information" (so this report will go viral) then on the resources, put the links of your gigs. I have free reports more than 5 years ago and still sending me subscribers.

Create a problem and make your gig the solution.

I have a few automated gigs on Fiverr and I get some insane requests and even orders from buyers in fiverr so I don't bother promoting it much, too much hassle to be honest if I have to spend any time dealing with the gigs.

Had an order the other day , gig sells music stuff , guy sends message asking for business related stuff, send him the gig he bought with some extra bonuses and the guy requests to cancel saying he asked me for business stuff ! I reply you ordered the music gig !

Guy is probably scamming lots of gigs doing this by asking for un related gigs .

Also get regular requests via PM asking for insane stuff asking for custom requests at $5, I normally quote $400-$500 or dont even waste my time replying.
