Hello All...

I'm just going to buy my first domain name and actually I dont know what the name will be. My Question is, it is possible to purchase a domain just with my name for example and change it later? it will cost me more money to change it?

And in the same breath...what's better "godaddy" or "namecheap"?

You cannot change a domain name that you've already registered. Each domain name is individual. You would have to register a new domain name if you want it to be different.

As for domain registrars, it's a matter of opinion. Some swear by GoDaddy, I swear at them. IMO NameCheap.com or Moniker.com are much better choices.

Namecheap is better. Less hassle and you get Whois Guard free for a year. But you can't edit your domain name period. It doesn't work like that. You should probably just spend some time coming up with a domain name you like before you start if you already know you don't want your name to be the permanent domain name.
Use this Instant Domain Search site that gives back real time domain availability results as you type...I use it to brainstorm domain names occasionally. It's free by the way. Just don't buy through the site. When you come up with something, go to Namecheap or GoDaddy directly. Also, search in Google for "Namecheap coupons" or "GoDaddy coupons" before you buy and save a buck.

Don't register a domain for the sake of doing it.
You may end up with 100s of them because of your indecisiveness.

      .
Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

I don't like godaddy either. Namecheap is the best that I have found so far.

For chosing a domin name, you need to consider whether you're going to be developing a brand (like for an ecommerce site) or using a keyword in it for SEO purposes.

Note that you cannot change it later.

If you are going to establish yourself as an expert in your niche, then you would probably be best going with yourname.com.

If that is taken, you could try things like firstname-surname.com or yournameonline.com.

Once you purchase your domain name, that's it. it cannot be changed later on ... now, you can compare all the domain providers , there are tons of review websites just google them ... personal experience, i would suggest namecheap and 000webhost ...

You can't chance a domain once you purchase it... Why are you purchasing the domain in the first place? Then find a name related to it.

before you ask what domain to register, ask your self first if what do you want to do with your domain-will-be...
    Namecheap >>> Godaddy
