optin ebook content vs. paid products

So my issue is this - I'm writing my lead offer ebook/report & I'm packing it full of some useful information that I'm going to use to set the stage for other free content & paid products, the problem is I don't know how much content I should include about a specific topic (the report covers about 4 different ones all aimed at helping to achieve a common goal) without diluting the value of a future product I intend to sell (the topic in question is health & fitness)

Do any of you have any ideas on how to make this lead offer as appealing & valuable as possible with devaluing/diluting the value of future offers?

My marketing plan (without going into too much detail) is to focus on getting email subscribers, adding the incentive of this freebie, as well discounts for subscribers on future products (or early access). Then promote affiliate products as well as my own.

I hope this is post is clear :p thankss

What I would recommend is writing your pillar products first, so you know before dealing with the loss leaders what information you absolutely want to keep off limits. Then, you can actually craft your "free reports" out of relevant parts of those paid products. It becomes a built in pre-sell:

Like what you read on caring for a Golden Retriever's fur coat? There are even more grooming tips in [product name here].

    (Link to offer).

For those that don't buy? Include more information in subsequent emails, always giving them the chance to get the whole thing. Make sure they know that their one best option for getting everything, and getting it fast is to click through and buy.

It's worked pretty well for me at least.

Are you planning to set this up with a membership site where the visitor can be presented with an immediate offer when then access the free report?

Have you looked at what the other people in the niche are doing?
