Amazon linking.. Text link OR Button link?

I also use a text link in the article body. It makes it less obvious and creates interest.

Watch and see for yourself if you do it. People don't like to buy through buttons as much as compared to text/anchor links

I did have text links in my reviews but I recently switched them out for the button to try it out. I was thinking the same thing, that people don't trust CLICK HERE buttons. Do you think if I linked the product title inside my review people would be more enticed to click it or something like "see the latest price"

It depends on your needs. I use text links inside blog posts and have a good result. Image link of amazon seems ugly..

The image links Amazon provides are terrible. Well I'm still up in the air on linking the product title or "see the latest price" inside my reviews. I have a lot of reviews so I don't want to keep changing it around.

Looks well with text links, not bad button image that make people doubt to click.

If your site is rich in content, use text link. Amazon banners are crappy-looking images so it won't convert... I have better conversion with embedded links..

Hi dm5k you need to split test both of them. Put both up and Get a stats tester or free statcounter? Check stats to see which gets more clicks- links or buttons. Then you change the wording slightly and split test the winner, to find your best result. When you know that, split test again to try and beat your best result. This is how you improve your click through rates (CTR). And Sales.

If you don't use stats you are flying blind. (leaving money on the table) A good stat counter can tell you how many daily visitors, how many unique visitors, what keyword is bringing in the most traffic from the search engines, what search engines bring you your most traffic. Which content is getting read most Which link, button or banner gets the most clicks. How many clicks you get. All that good stuff!

You can then tweak your site to target the most searched keyword, the best performing link, button, ad and product. You can divert your traffic from the pages that suck to the pages that make a few sales to make a lot more. You can target a keyword you didn't even know brought you good traffic? You then duplicate the best of your results and get more sales. Make sense? Cheers Phil

Try using the phrases "to get more information. click here", or "to visit the official website of company, click here.." It is a call to action and make sure to use pretty link lite if on WordPress, it cloaks the links so they aren't so ugly...

Text links with strong calls to action are best. That said, my sites all include both since most of them incorporate the integrated shopping cart.

I use text links but I also have an image of the product which is linked to Amazon in case visitors click on the image.

I've had the most success with text links in the body of an article. I just figure since I usually click on links when reading rather than other links, it would work best, and it has.

Make sure your images are linked and have a proper alt text title.

I use a combination of both. I have textlinks within my article/review, and I'll have an image link at the bottom, usually a "buy here" or "visit Amazon" button for the image ones.

Thanks everyone for all your replies. I am going to split test between linking the product title and "see the latest price" in my summary paragraphs to see which is the winner.

I actually have one more question. When I use text links can I just use the http://www.amazon.com/gp/product xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx yourtackingID-20 part for linking. Or do I need to use the entire HTML code inside my reviews?

Does anybody know if I would get credit for only using the "http://www.amazon.com/gp/product xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx yourtackingID-20" part from the HTML code to create links and image links?

Maybe try both and see which works best for you.

I would go with links... all embedded over targeted keywords that's related to the type of product(s) you're selling.
