What do you guys think of advertising on your blog?

Hey guys,

I've built my list to 2,000+ strong today and I've a constant stream of traffic, up to 80k visitors a month.

I was just wondering how effective advertising is to make money.

So far from the research I've done, it can make good money. And you can do it by pitching to other bloggers/companies or signing up for one of those ad networks.

Does anyone have any experience with making money through advertising for your blog?

P.S. What if most the traffic I get goes to one blog post only? Does it matter?

    If you get that huge traffic a month, you should apply for Google Adsense instead of Affiliates. Adsense pays you for clicks and impressions which is good for a blog that has a lot of visitors.

    With a fairly large number of visitors you may need to sell ad space on sites like buysellads and find buyers. Sounds better than Adsense.

    Adsense is by far is the best for anyone who wants extra revenue, you should try it for a month and record the increase. Once you get the extra bucks, find other Affiliate and compare it yourself. Its obviously different for each site because highly depend on traffic.

    That depends on you strategy.

    I have a high traffic website where I promote my own products, each product has their own domain, autoresponder list, follow up, etc.

    Every day I receive offer to buy banner ads on my site for other kind of products, but I really prefer to promote mine or affiliate products with good payout/conversions instead to bring traffic to other websites for some extra money.

    Create your own product and put banner adverts in all the normal places.

    The idea of selling advertising is good, just put a banner up saying "This space is for rent" and that will soon tell you if people are interested.

    You have good traffic, use goggle Adsense. you will notice the increase.
