Well what are you personally interested in? What type of topics would you be comfortable about writing for or doing work with on a daily basis?

I'm also having trouble finding a niche to work in. The problem I'm having is that every time I come up with a potential idea, I talk myself out of it because I don't really have the qualifications in that field. Is that similar to you, OP?

I wanted to create a website and ebook related to nutrition, for example, but I'm not a certified nutritionist or trainer. So I scrapped the idea.

        Is there a market there?

        Check out the https://adwords.google.com/o/KeywordTool

Make sure there's searches for what you're interested in. If there's a bunch of searches chances are there's a market there to be found.

If you're creating a blog, I'd say a larger niche would be ideal so you never run out of content. If you're creating a product however, it helps to solve a specific problem.

If you're passionate about chemicals or medicine, I'd say go for it! As long as you can get eyeballs to your site, there is always a way to monetize.

You need to get WAAAAY more specific than that. For instance...medicine...what type of medicine? Once you know what type of medicine to sell, look at who is buying it and why. Learn their hopes, fears, frustrations and triumphs.

Selecting the perfect niche isn't about what is selling or what is hot. It is about picking something you are passionate about - for instance my personal blog targets a niche of young college students moving through daily life. I make a good amount of extra cash relating to others.

Another thing I'm working on is my "SEO Guru" site where I'll be handing out tidbits of good information to people :-)

These are two things I'm interested in and they make my perfect niche just well, perfect!

By "affiliation," I'll assume you're referring to affiliate marketing (promoting other people's products in exchange for a commission on every sale made). When it comes to finding the "perfect" niche, it should be one that's profitable, one you have an interest in, and ideally, one that you know a little something about. This will help you better connect to your audience and come up with content.

Think about you hobbies, what you like to do for fun. Chances are that if you have an interest in something, a larger population of people do, too. I'll give you a short list of some common and profitable niche markets.

    dating

    weight loss

    make money

    sports

    toys

    gardening

    learn Spanish

    learn guitar

    video games

electronic gadgets...The list goes on and on. Also, once you find a profitable niche that you like and what not, don't bounce around. Stay in the niche until you start making some money in it so that you know you are on the right track.

    Good luck,
    Joey

I agree, definitely pick a niche that you are passionate about, that way you can really help someone, not just sell something to someone that you could care less about to get a quick buck. Help people get what they want in life and they will help you get what you want in life.

"Perfect niche." Isn't that a bit vague and disturbingly broad? What's perfect for you might not be perfect to another. Also, what constitutes "perfect"? Some thing its all about a high CPC or CPA rate. Others focus on low competition. See where I am coming from?

Few starters in no particular order:

You can choose something you're familiar with or passionate about if you will be writing the content.

Check out Amazon bestsellers and other related sites for niche ideas.

Get a mainstream newspaper and go through it and jot down any niche ideas you come across to do further research on.

Choose a niche that has hungry buyers.

Check out bestselling ClickBank products for ideas.

Download Market Samurai trial and get familiar with it.

Listen to people, what they complain about.

Remember people would rather avoid pain than gain pleasure - you can use that principle as a compass to find profitable niches.

See what's working and do it better.

Check out popular blogs on several niches that have a lot of readers and see if you can see yourself entering one of those niches.

    There is no perfect niche.

Are you good at anything? Do you have a particular skill? You can turn your hobbies and interests into products. But make sure that the niche exists for it, and that it doesn't have a ton of competition.

    Hello,

There are so many niche you can start with. For example if you like nutrition and know something about it , you can look for a sub niche in nutrition like nutrition for diabetique, or nutrition for teenager, or nutrition for pregnant women.....

then create your blog and then your ebook.

    Good luck.

    Hope that helps

Your going to find competition in all the money making niches. I do weight loss and wellness. As many have stated on this thread, you are not going to make money unless you can get the traffic.

Learn SEO and marketing on this forum and hire someone to do links for you. From there, add content regularly and give it 6-8 months to start seeing some conversions. Then they will come quick!

    Good luck!

It doesn't matter what interests you have, or what you're good at, because none of that matters unless there are buyers in a niche.

If your main aim is to earn a living online, then you must focus on niches where there a buyers ready to spend money and buy what you'll have to offer.

If there are no buyers in your niche choice, then forget it, and move on.

Some good ways to find niches is to browse forums and blogs, check websites like Amazon and Ebay to see what is selling, watch the news, read newspapers and magazines, check websites like Yahoo Buzz, Ebay Pulse, Google Trends, what's trending on Twitter, think about problems you have in your personal life (health, job, personal, dating etc) and if there's other people out there who have similar, think about 2 of your interests and see if you can mix them together to create a sub niche, explore the major niches (health, finance, make money online, dating etc) and look for niches within those niches. Or you can focus on something you know well, are passionate about and try and turn it into financial gain.

Make sure you do some research before hand, including good keyword research.

In fact, you just need to pick a common niche that people love to join.

    - Making money online
    - Dating
    - Health
Don't just try to find the shortcut. Once you join, you will learn a lots.

Don't work for money, work for learning when you are new.

You need to find a niche that "You" love. Otherwise you will not have the passion for it. My Niche is "Make Money Online" because I love Money! Just about everybody else does also

If you are new in Internet Marketing, a perfect niche must be something that you have passion and interest to. The one that easy for you to find the resources and understand everything that related to the area you'd like to promote. It will safe you a lot of time and effort.

There will always be buyers in every niche! But at the same time, you also need to check is there enough good affiliate products that can be offered to your audiences...

    Best of luck
    Cheers,
    Amanda
