Can anyone tell me why my blog isn't showing up anywhere?

Hi guys,

I started a blog to get the hang of setting up a basic WP blog and getting familiar with the features etc and applying techniques from the WF

I see that my blog main page is indexed in major search engines but the posts that I have been publishing are nowhere to be found?

I was wondering first if you guys could come up with any ideas as to why this might be? This is one of the most important things if I'm going to be trying to rank for long tail keywords etc..

specs:

Thesis blog with a thesis skin
Tal.ki forum plugin
Shareaholic plugin
WP about author
Viper video quicktags
fast secure contact form
Google XML sitemaps

at one point i had a list of ping services I grabbed i think from a WF post that i had plugged in on my blog but removed them thinking maybe that had something to do with it?

blog here MMA News | TheFightAnalyst.com

Any help would be much appreciated.

Alternatively I have another blog that used a skin from themeforest (not thesis) and I had no plugins and my posts were showing up within the hour on google.

One difference is that I set up the first blog last Thursday and this other one I had for several months.

Even still, I read about Warriors putting up blogs and articles and ranking them in hours so I'd like to figure this out so I can start making blogs and making some money!

Google has indexed your posts as far as I can tell if you search site:thefightanalyst.com/

Also what skin is that, it looks good.

    Which theme are you using?

The pinging site you have added to your blog can not be responsible for this.

I suspect the theme you are using have some coding problem, have you tried changing the theme to an entirely different something.

It'll take some time, there's no need to over do the seo work, traffic generating and getting indexed so very early on. Seems a weird one having you have done it previously with no plugins and they were indexed so quick.

Just give it some time and focus on great content. The results will come

Wow I spent months lurking getting great info from WF and I post a question asking for help and I get this many responses in 5 minutes! You guys rock!

@ JaRyCu I didn't install a ping optimizer and am now looking into it. I am wondering if pinging to a large list with several updates on the posts already affected my blog in searches negatively? Thanks for the kind words

@alistair I didn't check site:website.com until you mentioned it. I am not seeing my posts showing up at all, only pages.

I'm using BlogSkin for Thesis Theme - I know the jury is still out but one member in this thread is saying coding issues may be the cause of my issues just FYO

@johnben1444 - so pinging cannot cause any negative results in search? Is there any way to isolate if it's a coding issue before I go switching my theme? Any other ideas as to what might cause this or is there a reason you're thinking it's a coding issue in this case? I'm using the Thesis Theme with a thesis skin.

@Surminga - I hear ya. If there is something holding back my blog posts from showing up I would like to understand this as I am planning on making websites for diff. niches etc to try and market products so this could be important.

I don't know why I didn't check site:url earlier but apparently pages are being indexed in Google but not the posts and only my home page is being indexed on Yahoo lol.

I would like to thank all of you guys for helping out, it's really appreciated.

      @alistair thanks for checking again.

When I type in site:thefightanalyst.com I'm not getting any article "Jon Jones: When keeping it real goes wrong" or "Matt Secor debuts on TUF 16" showing up in the search results. And you are?

Not to be redundant this is for clarity's sake. Thanks again.

Keep posting and throwing backlinks to your posts. They'll show up soon. My blog posts show up within 12 hours of posting them. Do you have alot of services to ping when you make your blog posts?

It is more than likely because it is relatively new. You've recently started using this site, is that correct. Did you buy it on a drop from GoDaddy?

Patience grasshopper. There are some sites that take months to get Google Love You are ahead of the game already from what I see....

@IMSince 2003 I hear ya, well I am still wondering what other factors could affect the speed of indexation on the technical side of things, the backlinking, social bookmarking etc will only help?

This brings up an interesting point if brand new blogs take longer to get that love. Maybe setting up domains and blogs before even working on them just so they are in the system longer might be a good idea while developing content as opposed to waiting to put it on all at once?

Any more thoughts on this are really appreciated. Thanks guys.

It will take a while before Google starts ranking your pages, but in the meanwhile, keep updating your blog with relevant articles and start getting some quality backlinks

Well, you only have 9 pages indexed by Google. Post a lot more content and link to it via guest blog posts from sites that are PR 4+

@JaRyCu - do you know how long these negative effects could persist? Any ballpark figures or info you have on this would be appreciated.

@alistair - thanks very much for posting your screenshot. Those articles are not showing up in search results when I search from my phone or computer, including supplemental results. Still nothing. Any idea why that might be?

    Hi,

Have you submitted your website to search engines?

    Have you ping your website?

Have you submitted your articles to backlink your website?

    etc etc etc ....

A lot of jobs to be done if you really need to rank fast, steady, and permanently..

I would log into your Google web Master Tools, click on the site profile > Health > Fetch as Google Bot. lately I've been having trouble similar troubles and it was due to the fact that Google couldn't get past the robots.txt file.

I've also heard that some others were having similar trouble after the great Godaddy crash. I realize that your site is not hosted on Godaddy but it's a starting point.
