how to make all blogs/posts/etc redirect?

Hey guys

I have a massive blog (with a ton of pages, posts, categories, etc) in wordpress.

Do you know of a way to make everything redirect to a particular page?

For example

everything on that domain should redirect to www.mydomain.com/page

no.

I want to have EVERYTHING redirect to www.domain.com/page, period.

Bye bye old content, hello www.domain.com/page

And yeah it's all on same domain, if it matters it's all wordpress, and the newpage will be a page in wordpress

Sarevok, you should have posted this in the programming forum me thinks.. but here ya go:

Easiest way is with a .htaccess file.

How to redirect an entire directory:

Code:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^OLD_DIRECTORY(.*) "/NEW_DIRECTORY/SUB/SUB$1" [R=301,L]

You can redirect an entire site with:

Code:

Redirect 301 / http://www.NEWDOMAIN.com/

Or just redirect specific page(s):

Code:

Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.yoursite.com/newpage.html
Redirect 301 /oldpage2.html http://www.yoursite.com/folder/

  TRY this plugin "Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin" free from your admin > plugins panel

Check the WP wordpress.org codex for a redirect plugin. I use a really good one but it hasn't been updated in awhile. Pick a plugin in that's been recently updated.

slight problem with Redirect 301 / http://www.NEWDOMAIN.com/

say if I visit mydomain.com/terms-of-use

I am then redirected to http://www.newdomain.com/terms-of-use (which isn't there)

any advice?

  You'll need to do this for each page. and redirect each url to the same page. Or use another form of redirect.

Sarevok, sorry don't have enough posts to respond to your PM.

But... you could either create those pages on your new website, or 301 redirect them back to the old site on the 404 page.
