Clickbank help please

Hi everyone,

I promoted a Clickbank product as an affiliate in January and got just one sale, earning a princely $26.64! I never received payment. I just assumed it was waiting there until I reached their minimum payment threshold. To my horror I just discovered my account is now zero, and found this notice...

Accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant. Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of no earnings, $5 per pay period after 180 days of no earnings, and $50 per pay period after 365 days of no earnings.

Leave alone for a minute the fact they have stolen my earned money as a charge to hold my earned money, I'm now worried whether I might owe them, as I'm promoting something else and have just received a sale. Could someone enlighten me about these thieves please?

Thanks,

Bri.

You need to get at least 5 sales in at least 3 different Credit cards or paypal I think before you can get payment. This is their way of preventing people who purchase CB products via their own aff links. Just get more sales and you'll get your CB Check

What you are both saying applies to people promoting their own products on clickbank doesn't it? I'm promoting other vendors products. I'm really confused now.

    Ahh reading the fine print.

It took me 3 months to get my money because of the need for credit card purchases. You really have to scramble to make money through CB, but once you're in, you're golden

keep at it, it's just one of life's little hurdles

No what they are saying is that you need to get more sales by different methods in order for you to start receiving checks.

This is right from the Clickbank Accounting Policies:

    Customer Distribution Requirement
ClickBank will withhold payment of any account balance until the following criteria is met:

Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers; and,
Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or European Direct Debit(ELV)). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.
This requirement is in place to help prevent Affiliates from abusing the ClickBank Affiliate program by using their accounts for the sole purpose of fraudulently collecting rebates and/or discounts on their own purchases.

Once you have met the Customer Distribution Requirement, your account will begin issuing payments normally, in accordance with our Accounting Policy, beginning on the next payment issuing date.

    Hope this helps!!

Ok. But they have still emptied my account / taken my money right? Its gone from $26.64 to zero over 9 months due to $1 and $5 dormant 'pay period' charges. Here in the UK if an institution charged the full balance of an account simply to hold that balance on deposit they'd wind up in court. I though the US was quite tough on financial theft/fraud?

You have to get at least 5 sales with 5 unique credit cards. Paypal sales dont count. Keep marketing and getting commissions so that your funds don't get wiped away.

That's just the way how it is with Click Bank StingGB. And this is what happens when you forget to read all the important parts of their terms and conditions but not to worry. Just look on the bright side. I don't think anyone of us in here never made a single mistake before learning all the way through the internet marketing business. You already made an earning and it won't be too long now before you get the hang of it and earn more than 3 sales per 3 months. Just keep up the sales and you will be fine. Cheers!

  • Even though your frustrations are understandable, referring to Clickbank as "thieves" "financial theft" "fraud" and "stealing" your money might be a bit harsh considering the fact that CB does post their "dormant account" policies on the site. Most people also quickly scroll by it (whether they read it or not) and click "I agree" when setting up their account. CB upheld their end of the bargain, in exchange for offering a service that allows you to make sales and get paid. If you however don't manage to satisfy their requirements, then CB may not be the best choice for you, as you will be experiencing the same issue again several months from now. You could also use the experience as motivation, and challenge yourself to make enough sales so that you do get paid. Nothing wrong with that!

Thanks everyone, as always you've been very helpful. I'll get over it and move on.

Clickbank have no justification for this though. If paypal or a bank took peoples money that was left on deposit the fraud squad would be sent in.

Perhaps I should think of a business whereby I get to hold on to people's commission for selling something, then charge them all of it for doing so.

      Best regards,

      Brian
