Do you read sales pages?

I was wondering, when you see a WSO, what do you do first after you read the headline? Do you read the whole page? Do you scroll down to see the price?

I just do a general/quick scan through then check the price. Not into buying anything at the moment. have spent too much and not making any consistent bread as yet.

I would hope people would read the page to get an idea of what they're purchasing.

I'm sure there's quite a few people who are just looking for the price tag to see if they can afford it though before reading and thus wasting time on it.

A lot of people are looking for some insta-riches button or some magical software that prints money for you while you sleep. If anyone finds it, let me know!

It depends on how well the product catches my attention.

If the product is something I may be interested in buying, I will read the majority of the sales page to see if I am going to buy it.

    The more info the better!

If the headlines and sub-headlines catch me, I'll go right to the price and then if I'm interested, I'll go back to the top and read a little more closely.

      LOL

I read the important parts like what the product is, what it does/how it works and how much it costs. I don't usually buy WSO's even so, especially because some sales pages skip the important parts.

You have to remember, a lot of the people viewing WSOs aren't current Warriors (Registered Members).

    They're hopefuls.

I remember the first sales page (one of the only) that ever sucked me into their product. That was The Rich Jerk. It was such a different approach to what you normally see, I said "yes! I have to have this!"

I browse the WSO from time to time to see the pricing of some products. I don't intend on purchasing them but it's quite humorous to me to see someone selling "How To Make A Bazillion Dollars A Day While Doing NOTHING But Playing WoW" for $7 or $17.

Price , i prefer go in to landing page to purchase while more secure and trust when purchase from a real landing page.

The vote option that is missing here is "I read certain elements".

You don't really read a sales page word by word, but you scroll down to see something that you like.

The goal of a sales page is it to optimize and convert.

Design: Keeping the look and the feel of a landing page consistent will help capitalize on familiarity and perceived value. Thus, the most important asset of your sale page is the value proposition.

Forms: The wrong type of forms can make the user uncomfortable. Creating forms with the user in mind helps minimize the feeling and maximize lead generation.

Value: Again, it's all about marketing needed value to your potential customer. Providing and appropriate incentive will dramatically increase conversions.

Analyze: Perfecting a landing page can take numerous tweaks revisions. So don't think that your first version will pull in the highest conversions. Spend time finding out what works and adjust accordingly.

You have to know that you only have a few seconds to capture the attention of your lead; a well thought out and optimized layout can make all the difference in a page's success or failure.

Call to action: Too many people try to be deceptive here and attract the wrong leads or even worse lose leads. Your call to action should contain your value proposition and not be deceptive. It should be clear what action you want your potential customer to take.

Providing value in your sales page means to have an offer that is valuable and relevant.

The best results you will ever achieve come from a well thought out sales page with a clear value proposition.

I scan the headlines and if it looks interesting I go back for a deeper read. This is usually followed by in depth read of the reviews that have been posted. Not the early ones but the ones a bit later from buyers. I very rarely buy without waiting for these unless its from marketers I respect ie Dan Lew, Boliji O, Zesh Ali, James Tudsbury etc

If you are talking about WSO, then I would say many people will not read the entire sales page because WSO here is marketer-to-marketer communication and marketer know how to grab only important parts.

But if we are talking about other sales pages, I means, not WSO. Then I think almost many interesting readers will read the entire sales page because we (as a marketer) know how to grab consumer's attention and this is marketer-to-consumer communication.

    Just my two cents.

The option I would like to check is not there i.e. I only read the pages of the products I buy. I find my process goes a bit like this:

    - Skim Read
    - Get Drawn into Interesting Bits
    - Hooked
    - Price
    - If still Interested, Read the Page

      To add to this ^^^^

      - check vendors profile
      - read reviews.

The headline will get me to open a WSO thread and the first paragraph will tell me if I need to continue.

If I'm not drawn in by the opening paragraph, then I click 'x' and move on. I wouldn't even check the price.

That's what I do, but if the sales page is too long I get bored and click away. After that I check the reviews and then I click on the pay button. Make a cuppa, double check some of the points on the sales page and then buy or click away if I'm tempted but still unsure.

Headline takes the 80% of the attention the reader. If this is really good, i go on and read the whole page to see the copywriting style.

If it isn't that good, i just read the basic points, headlines, bullets, etc.

Lastly, i take a look at the price and try to justify it.

When bored, I play a game with myself. I scroll down a random WSO very quickly, pause if I see the vendor is willing to give me a "value" of over $1000, then have a mental bet with myself... will the WSO be under $20, $10, or $5?

I check the title, skim...skim...skin until I reach the what I will do for you or what will this WSO do for you. If I am interested, I quickly scroll to the price/buy section. If the price is reasonable, I scroll further until I find reviews or I do a little Google digging for the WSO.

I use the same method as Will Edwards listed above.

Also, if I don't know the seller's by rep I look at previous posts and at comments in previous WSOs perhaps. I seldom click on a sales page video.

I ignore any and all reviews and testimonials unless written by someone I know and trust.

There are several copy tricks that will turn me off when skimming sales copy - the long personal story, the "here's what it isn't" hype, the 'formula' page that repeats itself over and over, etc.

I've found the more complex the sales pages for WSOs have become, the fewer I've purchased...but that's just me.

It's not just going after the WSO section. It's about getting emails every day from self proclaim marketers. They send you links to a product. The question is do you really read these long "15 pages" sales letters? Can't the marketer write to the point exactly what this product is, instead of telling me he was a homeless 3 months ago and now he is a millionaire? In my opinion spare the long sales letter, I don't read it anyway. If the product is good, I read the headline, some bullets about the product and price. I truly don't read these long boring sales letter. Do you? That by itself is a time consuming.
Oh and BTW, a product that worth $1000 is not selling for $7. A Mercedes that cost $100,000 is not selling for $5000. Don't fall into that trap.

I find it funny that a WSO can be 24 hours or less old, state you can make $3000 in only 45 days but have 20 raving reviews. I understand review copies and all of that but have yet to see a reviewer state a case study on how it actually worked for them.

I see reviewers stating how well the WSO flows and how well written it is but it seems like the only thing that would be relevant would be results.

It really depends. Depends on who the seller is, whether or not the headline catches my attention, how long it is, etc I might read the salespage. For the most part I will just skim through it and look at the price. Then probably skim through some of the posts to see if its something I'm interested in purchasing.

I don't think it matters. The question is TOO BROAD... and besides, you're asking people who are familiar with WSO's.

If you're trying to create a product based on these answers, I doubt you'll get anything accurate...

Besides - anybody who says "I read the headline only" or "I only read parts of it" in my opinion the copywriter failed...

Why? Because a really good piece of sales letter isn't really a sales letter. You don't even notice the sales letter.

I can't remember who said this quote but... "You know you have a sales letter when it's faster to actually read it than throwing it away."
