Elance and Guru.com are the two largest. I've used Scriptlance.com quite a lot to hire people.

I have always preferred rentacoder.com but I am pretty good at finding good people. It definitely takes practice. Odesk is another one that many use.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I tried ODesk but all their software that has to be installed on my system was just not worth the hassle in my humble opinion. Not to mention it set off all of my anti-virus protection and trying to redo two firewalls in coordination ... it just not worth it.

As for my personal favorites otherwise? It depends on whether I am going in to it as a service buyer or a service provider and what my needs are at the moment.

    Just my two cents

i've used elance, rentacoder, scriptlance, odesk, guru, etc. i think i've used prettu much all the major ones.

but try getafreelancer.com too. it's not a pretty site but they have a ton of freelancers there. the more freelancers, the more competition, the lower the prices, etc.

but i think the key is not the marketplace you get a freelancer from but that you choose a coder that has a lot of feedback and be extremely clear about what you want.

if you do those two things, you should be ok in any of the freelancer marketplaces : )

In my opinion, guru.com is the best freelancer network. They have the most professional freelancers there, and the best part is that they are ranked.

Also, most freelancers have their contact details on their profile, so they are very easy to get in contact with. I've hired freelancers there to develop whole sites for me there before.

I use ifreelance.com - easy to use and plenty of bids. I don't like elance as it's too cumbersome for small projects, and they kick you off if you post work, but don't select a bidder.

I prefer oDesk.com, my friends have been telling me about it. And they said its convenient at oDesk. You get to have a quality work done and yet at a low price.

    Good luck!

    Thanks.
I think getresponse has an api you can use to unsub people. Check it out.

Their API is pretty easy to use. Just simple HTTP post. You can post to it silently too via cURL. If you're not technical, hire a coder. It's a very simple thing to do so it should be pretty cheap. : )

    Good luck with that!

I like getafreelancer. They have a great ranking system and a pretty good talent pool. I've never really had a problem with them and their system is easy to use (though not too slick by any means).
