Not just that- you can direct message sparingly too. I'm finding it's a great way to build relationships with specific reporters and writers.

Good idea Rachel. Unfortunately the main local regional papers and radio shows haven't got as far as twitter yet with some still not using email!!

I think you should go an train them on the benefits- they cna pick up other newstores very fast using twitter themselves

But are you not just adding twitter users that won't see or read your tweets, not exactly your target market? Don't mean to be rude, but seems more about just inflating your following numbers.

Sounds like an interesting thing. I'm new to twitter. How would that work? Just post newspaper articles? How do TV and radio programs fit in?

There are now a lot of offline businesses moving
into the twitterscape.

I have several local businesses I follow.

I also get my clients on twitter when possible
so local followers can download their menu, store
info and such :-)
