Embarrassing problems niche

I am planning to do some IM for an embarrassing problem. My brother has previously marketed to this niche offline but gave up as he said it was a flawed idea as people with these problems rarely want to admit they have a problem.

I think this is true but I think by taking it online it will allow me to find people who have already admitted they have a problem and are looking for a cure. However, I think I need to change my marketing slightly.

Usually I drive traffic to a squeeze page so that even if the visitor doesnt buy immediately I can try to get them back to my sales page with emails. But lets say, for instance, you had a bad body odor problem. Would you want to receive lots of emails about how to stop being smelly? Would you be concerned someone might see them and laugh at you?

Driving traffic directly to a salespage without lead capture isn't great for conversions in my experience but i think a squeeze page could frighten people off.

Can anyone think of a clever way to keep putting my salespage infront of a prospect without usuing the usual squeeze page / autoresponder method?

I don't agree with your brother.

Many people have problems that they have admitted to themselves but are not ready to admit to others.

So the Internet is the first place those people go for information and solutions - simply because it's anonymous. They can find out everything they need to know about their problem and often a solution too without having to speak to a single person.

I'd say that people with problems like this are looking for quick solutions, rather than endless autoresponder sequences containing information.

So targeting specific keywords and taking them to pages with specific information on those keywords, videos and, of course, affiliate products might be the way to go.

Careful testing and conversion tracking would be needed.

And, if you can pull together information from other people with the same problem and how they solved that problem, it can be very powerful - sufferers realise they're not alone and are inspired by the stories of others.

    Cheers,

    Neil

Cheers for reply. My bro was doing it offline by mail order, this was a few years back. He spent a fair bit testing then decided to move on to another product. I think if he had done it online it could have worked but 15 years ago the Internet was not as popular.

Personally I think this Market is killer as it has good back end potential, I just want to approach it in the right way.
