How to get 5,000 Page Views Per Day in Less Than Three Months

Hey Guys!

About three months ago, I came to WF looking for a way to create a new website, and join IM. Well over the past three months, I was able to create a website and reach 5,000 page views per day, with a 1,000 email subscribers, 2,000+ facebook likes, and 13.5 twitter followers.

I currently average $10+/day off of google adwords and I could not do it without all of you.

The website I created was Project Casting and here is how i did it.

Step 1: Research. Look into something that YOU are interested in, because it is going to SUCK to write about something you are not. DO NOT DO AN IM WEBSITE, OR HOW TO MAKE MONEY WEBSITE. there are million of them, and the odds of you making one that will be successful is slim to none.

Step 2: Find a topic you can write about. A LOT about. I had about 30 articles ready before I started the website. Try to SEO as much as possible, but do not let SEO become your focus.

Step 3. Buy the domain, make sure it is catchy, simple, and your friends approve of.

Step 4. Sign up for wordpress. I love them because they are easy to work with

Step 5. Purchase a premium theme! I dont care where, but it makes a ton of a difference.

Step 6. Set up a facebook, twitter, etc. The more the better, and post FREQUENTLY. Start by asking friends to join.

Step 7. Write a lot on your website, I was doing 12 articles per day, now I am averaging around 6. The more the better.

Step 8. Market yourself join facebook clubs that have the same premise as your website this will translate into facebook likes, and hits.

Step 9. Repeat steps 7 and 8, and eventually, it will grow.

Step 10. Visit WF and ask for help! without the members on here, you will be missing out.

Any tips or advice on my website is appreciated.

Or, any suggestions on how you guys reached 3,000+ page views per day is appreciated.

  • Great post. But...

You should expand on Step 10. That's where the real info is. Let me put it this way: NO TRAFFIC = NO MONEY. So maybe post a Part 2 spelling out how you generated the traffic to get to 5000 PV per day. Please spell it out since that's the missing part of this step by step breakdown.
  • Wow, you were writing alot of articles! Nice job.. Hard work is the best way to forge success.
  • You are writing 12 articles per day which is almost impossible for many people. Writing 2 articles become tough a lot of time. You have got great talent I must say.
    • [1] reply
    • Dude, it's not impossible. I have written 8000 words per day. Copyscape original. Clean grammar. Engaging. Useful. SEO-compliant. Facebook and Twitter-ready. You just have to have a system and you have to READ A LOT so the ideas flow quickly.

  • This is a great post and should help some people trying to get visitors to their site. But I disagree with the statements quoted above.

If you approach it the right way, you can create a successful I.M. website. There are millions of weight loss websites out there and new, successful ones, are popping up every day! You shouldn't shoot the idea down, because people following this might "love" Internet Marketing or know a lot about it already. New people become interested in I.M. every day, so there's always a "fresh" market in every niche.

    • Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I practiced writing articles everyday. So, I think I am able to write 500 word articles in a short amount of time (appx. 15 minutes if I know what I want to write about).

Again my suggestion not to create an IM website is again my opinion. But, take a brief search of "SEO strategies" and you will see a million website stating the same thing over and over again. Try something different, you might just like it.
      • [1] reply
    • I agree with you 100%. My first $500 online came from me selling a "how to make money" book. It was from a really crappy ezinearticle I wrote that was less than 500 words (it was before google didn't like short little articles).

No experience. No list. Just a boy with an affiliate marketing dream...

By the way man, great job on the website, really interesting idea dealing with casting calls.
      • [1] reply
  • Cool site man.

Just more proof that people don't need to have an IM site to make money online. Find a niche that you're already passionate about!
  • Do you do anything else or keep you busy the whole day on writing articles ? It is very very tough to write 12 articles per day. I can do 1/2 articles per week !!!
  • If your articles are decent you could probably even sell your services to others Either way good idea that does work with a lot of hard work

  • Great tips, but i dont think writing 12 articles per day is possible .may be you meant 12 per month.
    anyway keep posting such tips.

Head over to The Keyword Academy/PostRunner and you'll see they have competitions to see how many words they can write in a given period. They get up to quite a lot, believe me.

12x 500 Word articles is only 6000 words per day. There have been old pulp scifi and detective novel authors who have written 50K word novels in the space of a month. (edit) And that is with all the editing and rework thrown in.
  • Dude, who made the animated video on your site?
  • lol. This feels more like a promotion for your site after reading that.
You didn't edit it either, but it's Adsense*.

I got a chuckle out of a couple of the responses to the OP, especially about writing 12 articles a day...it's not all that hard to do at all. There was a time when I was routinely banging out 10 good articles every morning - in just a couple of hours.

On "That's a whole lot of work for $10 a day."...It's obviously just taking off. My first Adsense month (years ago) was a grand total of 13 cents. Two years later, my best month was $23K - the OP has only been at it for a few months.

On "DO NOT DO AN IM WEBSITE, OR HOW TO MAKE MONEY WEBSITE."...while it is just the OP's opinion, realistically, newcomers to any online business probably aren't going to do well in any highly competitive niche - at least initially.

The OP's plan is damn near perfect for anyone just getting into some sort of online business. Some of you may have missed the points that it requires focus and working your ass off to make it succeed -the OP never said it would be easy.

My hat's off to him for researching and identifying a "Real" niche market and being able to move into it so smoothly. From what I saw of the site and the niche itself, there's enormous potential for it.

Well done coolidge effect...you're going to do great - just stay the course brother

  • You are writing 12 articles. it seems good. In all, hard work is main ingredient of success.
  • I love your site! And I'm so happy that you've shared your success with us.
  • Great man .. very inspirational. There was a time I've written between 10 and 30 articles per day (this site has now 2000 articles) - and with my next project I've stopped it since I've lost faith in SEO as my main traffic source (altough there I have not been penalized).

    How do you offpage-SEO it?

And may I ask you how many of your visitors are coming from google?

    Thanks - and keep going
  • 12 articles a day .. freakin slacker :-)
  • Sorry to join the broken record on this occassion, but Im amazed this guy can crunch out 12 articles a day. Seriously gotta increase my work-rate
    • [1] reply
    • I could write 12 articles a day on a topic I know a lot about but it would be hard. That would be all I would get done for that day. That is a lot of work there.
  • 12 is a ton of articles for one day. Even 6 a day is quite a few.

    Good work, keep it up!
  • hey so do you mean you're averaging $10 a day with adsense?...

And when you say page views...do you mean how many folks look at your pages...?

...I'm curious to know if you have google analytics on there...because many of those page views might be from people going back to view more pages on your site....not new..unique visitors...

...in other words...if you were to say you got 5000 uniques a day..then that would be killer traffic...and you could easily turn that into thousands a month in revenue.
  • Wow, you write 12 articles? You say don't do IM, may I ask what you promote or what your website is that you write articles for?
  • I see Authority site written all over this....good work!
  • Hey. Really like your website. You did a great job, especially for just starting out. I actually really enjoy writing articles also, so 12 per day doesn't seem unreasonable to me. This business takes dedication to your purpose. Good job! Keep up the good work and keep enjoying the process!

    • Secret to writing a lot of articles a day is this: know your topic very well.

If you take time each day for a week to really study and learn your topic, you will be able to grab long tail keywords and bang out useful articles quickly around your KW because you are familiar with the subject and actually KNOW what you are talking about.

A little extra effort up front will pay off in production later.
  • 12 articles is a lot? I have to routinely write over 20/day. One of my better days was 40. I've done even more than that. I had some help (DNS10).

OOPS, forgot to add, way to go OP! Good for you!
    • [1] reply
  • have you use press release
many new web site use it to get more visitor
  • Congrats, I'm surprised your making that off of one site per day.
  • 12, 500+ word articles are feasible. $10 a day from the Adsense aint too bad. How do you plan on scaling up your profits?
  • Thanks everyone for the feedback. I guess I will try and answer everyone's questions.

    1. I average about 1,200 uniques per day and with an average of 4 pages per vist

    2. I know $10.00 is not a lot that is why I added pop under advertising to hopefully generate more income. But, I need to figure out another way to increase my profits. I have not come up with another idea yet. (feedback for this is appreciated).

    3. I think it takes practice. When it comes to google, I try not to think what exact words do I need so I end up at the top of the search engine results. I try to stick with content and that has helped me thus far.

    4. It also takes A LOT OF PROMOTION. When I take a day off, (which i rarely do) i can definitely see less and less page views. People want new content, so GIVE IT TO THEM.

Thanks everyone for help and feedback.

If you have any suggestions on how to make the site more profitable please let me know.

Oh yeah! I tried adding a forum to the website, but that has not been so successful, do you guys know of any strategies of promoting a forum. It seems the traditional way to promote a website does not really apply to a forum.

    • Your pop up ads are really jarring mate. I was interested in your site content because my Dad likes being an extra in films - but I couldn't get away fast enough when that thing kept interrupting the experience
    • Hey Coolidge - Great post. You've done amazing with your site. It took me over a year to hit 1,000 visitors per day although I wasn't posting nearly as much content as you.

One quick but effective thing I can think of for increasing profits is trying new Adsense layouts.

When I first started my fitness site, every piece of IM advice I read told me an Adsense ad at the top right of my header (just like you have in your header) was one of the most effective placements. However, for some reason, it really didn't work for me and my CTR on that ad block was shocking.

What I'd suggest you do is move one Adsense block to a different position and then track the CTR on that block for a month. If the CTR improves during the month, leave that block in its new position, then move another block and do the same trial. If the CTR doesn't improve, move the original block again and keep moving it each month until the CTR improves.

Two of the best Adsense ad placements I've found are...

      1. Directly Below The Article Content: I've found that a 336 * 280 ad right below the last paragraph of the article works well.

      2. Within The Article Content: I've found that a 300 * 250 ad, aligned to the left, in the middle of the article works extremely well. The only thing to be aware of with this placement is that if you have images within your articles, it can interfere with their layout. However, I read a few articles on your site and all your images seem to be at the top of the articles, so this shouldn't be a problem for you. If you try this placement, I'd recommend the free Wordpress plugin - 'Quick Adsense' which allows you to easily insert Adsense code into the middle of your articles.

If you keep testing like this, you should be able to get some quite big wins on your CTR.

      Hope this helps,

      Tom

    • You write a hell of a lot of articles a day but where do you find the time to backlink each article you write? When I write an article I can spend days backlinking each one and still continue doing it for a couple weeks along with new content I create.

It's all good and well writing a boat load of content but you need to be spreading the links all across the web on Yahoo Answers, forums, blog comments etc so they are noticed over time. I have a Yahoo Answer which I answered around 1 year and 6 months ago which still provides me with some juice now and again. When you say you stop writing for a day and you see your traffic and stats go down this means you need to get spreading.
  • Love your website and your video on the homepage. Personally not a fan of pop-unders. With your ability to rapidly write so much, what about putting together your own e-book? A free one to give away on the site to build a list, and an actual product to sell?
  • I do not really like the pop ups either, I was just figuring out a way to make some extra cash. So, I will remove the pop up ads tonight. Thanks for the input.

    • Totally off-topic, but this proves that I should never be surprised by what I see on the Warrior Forums. David Eddings was the first fantasy author I ever read, and still one of my all-time favorites. Seeing someone quote him here is a mini-highlight in my day.

  • Recently I decided I was going to skip a nights sleep (I wanted to reset my sleeping pattern) and decided to make the most of my time by working on a new project. I wrote around 15 articles as well as a few hours of blog commenting which drove a nice bit of traffic. I just decided that if I was going to be awake I had to spend all my time doing something useful so didn't allow myself to stop. Amazing how much work you can get done if you really commit to it.
  • First, nice website.

From your content, it seems you writing about newsworthy articles.

Guess who like news . Google News, if I where you I would go ahead and lookup for how to get your site in Google News (there are multiple rules). One of them to get multiple writers.

If you get in Google News, you will have great exposure as long as you posting news that people are looking after.

    Good luck
    • [1] reply
    • That's a good point. I will definitely look into that.

Here are some other suggestions that I think can help.

Add a link at the top, middle, and bottom of your articles. This helped increase my average page views by +1.

Try new Wordpress plugins, you will be surprised at how they can make a difference on your website.

Update daily. Once you slow down, even for a single week. People are less likely to come back (from my experience). So try to at least write one article per day. It is not hard just dedicate one hour a day and you will see you will need less and less time to write something up.

  • That is a huge amount of articles a day - well done though on your success
  • Well done! Good story!
Hope, you will get more for your efforts spent!
  • One question: where (in which topic) you asked for help and what kind of help was offered to you if not a secret?
  • Very impressive thread and a good story so far. I have recently set up a blog for my sports forum and am hoping to start getting articles out per day. It literally takes me 15-30 minutes to beast out a 500 word article. It's just getting the content and then knowing exactly where to promote it that worries me.

What kind of methods of promotion do you use other than the basic URL links in Facebook and Twitter?

  • Another helpful way to increase your page views is to simply tell everyone what website you are working on. I contacted people I have not seen or heard from in years, and asked how they were doing and then told then about my website. This helps increase the audience, page likes, and twitter followers.

Also, it is motivation. You do not want to put out a bad product to people that you KNOW. That will make you look bad. So you work harder.

I'm glad to know that works for you. However, some may agree with me that you don't need to write that much everyday for your website. Some posts an article once a week. Some even do it for once a month.

... and they're all earning the same amount you're earning through Adwords per day...or maybe even more..
  • A big and massive congratulation! Really glad that you took action.

What's knowledge when you don't apply them?

    Kudos, enjoy your success
  • good article.. thanks
i m sure lots of people find it useful
  • Hello,
nice to hear that, but I not understand how your income is that low above that number of traffic.

    I just want to ask:
Do you working some offsite SEO? Here I want to know from where you get most traffic, because I cant imagine that you create that amount of traffic just from social media.

How you building you articles for SEO? (keyword density, alt images, headings, LSI?). I am asking this because I am creating new weight loss blog and I am writing articles only with 1 keyword usage, so I dont look to SEO anymore. I create about 1000words long article with images and videos.

What is you social media growing strategy?

Please answer my questions and will help me a lot growing my weight loss blog.
  • Awesome post, Awesome website! Although I disagree with your statement that there's no money to be made in the IM niche anymore or that it's too difficult... I'm really impressed with the amount of info you were pushing out. Content creation IS the way to go these days! Seriously dude, CONGRATS!

    • Thank you very much

      Thank you very much

I know it is hard to get started, and often times frustrating, so, I decided to give back to the community that helped me get started.

Just PM me if you ever get stuck!

That's the biggest problem. I would suspect that I should be making more money with that amount of traffic. I have found it hard finding a proper CPM advertising company. (any help is appreciated) I also just started using a new affilate network, so hopefully, that will generate revenue in the future.

When it comes to SEO, I do not try to make the article come to the top page. I found that if I write just content that is a current event, or something people want to know about it, it just generally did better than other articles. It is also finding a website niche, that not too many people write about. (that is why I suggest not writing about how to make money online websites, there are a ton of them, believe me I tried and that website only made me 1 penny in advertising.)

FOr social media, buy a 1,000 twitter followers, and 1,000 facebook likes, and just post an motivational image that is related to your niche everyday. People will like those pictures, and often times share your image. This will bring you new followers. Also, post an image with every post on facebook. Images and video are liked and shared 200% more than a regular link, or a link with just words.

My website is fairly new and I am always going to the library reading books on marketing, and website design. I try to keep this as a job, and I am in love with my website (100% dedication). With Project Casting - Free Auditions, Free Casting Calls & More! I always experiment, try new promotional campaigns, and try to increase involvement on the website.

Also, do not be afriad to ask WF for any questions. They will definitely lead you in the right direction. Minus, those trying to scam you and make money off of your dreams.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

  • Word of warning!! I think I see 6 Adsense ad blocks on the home page and 5 on the inner pages. You are only allowed 3 max on any one page no matter how long.

On first impressions, it looks a nice site. Good luck with it.

Also, if you have gone with image ads only, you might want to consider each ad to show text and image. Text ads (from my experience) get a higher CTR.
