Thanks guys, great ideas going. I don't think I want to charge for status updates. But, I would like to throw in CPA offers, email submits, etc. Try to keep it as related to the topic as possible and probably create another fan page on a different but similar niche and get fans to like that page as well.

So when you talk about google advertising are you talking about google adwords on a facebook fanpage?

No they're talking about setting up a separate blog or website related to texting where you can direct fans to (by having exclusive posts, give them a teaser and then the link to the full article etc.) and hopefully get them to click on adsense ads.

Set up a blog, get some kind of analytics on it. Make a post that is similar to what the FB page is about. Put the link on the page, see how many people visit the blog from the FB page.

Now you know if it's converting traffic. If it converts, stick some ads, affiliate links or something like that on the blog!

I would recommend setting up a blog that is in the texting niche and linking up to it on the FB page. That is incredible. Your sister is amazing in her own right

I am pushing my CPA campaing with my pages for 3 years now and never had any problem except roadblock on admin account or worst scenario deleted admin account...
Solution for that is multiple "dummy, fake accounts" ofcourse PVA's (phone verified accounts) and give them all right to be admins and keep your sister account as admin also but don't post offers with hers account..
You can monetize that amount of traffic with cpa trust me I made overall 150k with cpa and 600k fanpages...

I manage lots of BIG FB lists and I can tell you a secret:

Think of a dog when you want to give the dog medicine. You don't put the medicine directly in the dogs mouth, you but the medicine in some meat and then feed the dog the meat.

Think of the affiliate promotions like the pill, and GREAT content like the meat and she'll have great FB success.

I would imagine she can't do much.

It's too vague a topic and the moment you start trying to monetize it, people will report those posts as spam, Facebook will come and view the page, and you will lose your admin rights.

It eventually happens to all those pages that are based on general topics like that. You don't own the interest of 'texting' and thus they believe you have no right to mass contact all those users.

As Broderick says, you can mask all together an post your offer updates on daily basic without any problems if you do it right.. None of my pages are topic related which I post and monetize at the end and still they are with me for last 3 years

One word "Fiverr.com"

First off the market is too wide. So monetizing it will be a pain. Secondly any reports from the fans could draw attention of Facebook and take your admin rights to the page.

Your best bet is to encourage fans to go to a customised tab where you'll have a squeeze page. Get them into your funnel and work your way from there. This is the safest way to convert fans into buyers.

This is quite a limited niche, however that doesn't mean you can't cater to them.

I personally would use your sister's current fans as my base for market research. I encourage that you post relevant, niche related, questions within your statuses and then based on the responses, break them down into additional fan pages. After all, in order to text you need a phone right? So let's do some digging and find out what phone they have and what they want from those phones!

Here's my breakdown:

1) Post related content to see what your fans like and dislike. Make a note of this.

2) You could post statuses/question polls such like:

"Who here has an iPhone?"
"Question Poll: What type of phone do you have? (samsung, iphone, htc, etc)"
"What type of Apps would you like to see on the marketplace?"

3) Depending on the responses, I'd organize them in some way to show the highest from lowest in common responses.

4) Say you received 10,000+ likes for the status: "Who here has an iPhone", this would indicate that 10,000 people may have an iPhone. So set yourself up a Fan Page called "We Love iPhones" or something like that. (Try and have a catchy name because there may be a chance it could go viral)

5) Then refer your new iPhone page to your sister's 800,000 fans. Provide decent/interactive content to your new fans, perhaps a few discussion statuses of the iPhone then BANG...get some Amazon affiliate iPhone related products, cases, screen-protectors, etc promoted via your statuses. Perhaps even create some apps that you could sell to them.

AVOID PROMOTING TOO MUCH though! Treat them with respect and only promote every so often.

That's it. Rinse and repeat. Create more Fan Pages and make some more $$!

This is what I would do personally. Conduct some market research through the use of statuses, question polls etc. You're good to go!
