How do I set up a sales team, manage it, and pay commissions?

Hey all,

I have had a couple of people ask if they can sell mobile websites for me in a sort of "partnership",, affiliate,, or employee. Some form of that. I guess basically a salesperson that works on a commission basis only.

Does anyone run something like this? I'm looking for some typre of structure to keep track of everything. Here's my plan:

I sell Mobile websites. I want to have,

1.) A site to have a training area for sales staff to learn from video training. Now, this part I can figure out. I have Profits Theme that allows you to build this structure. Also, sales materials such as email swipes, sales video to send clients, and all other marketing products.

2.) Some type of way to keep track of sales and who gets commissions. Maybe even link to a Paypal account where staff has the clients money sent and they receive their cut/commission automatically.

Is there such a thing or am I asking too much?

Thanks,

Robert X

I guess my question is how are they delivering sales to you....via internet phone or flyer? each system has different functions. If you think about each one seperate you'll probably be able to figure out how to do this. Tracking software for affiliates.... software for phone sales....flyers you add a code for each affiliate to be tracked.

Remember to request W-9s from your affiliates/sales people, as you'll have to send them and the IRS copies of Form 1099-MISC to declare their non-employee compensation at the end of each year.

Also make sure you don't tell them how to do the job. You can give them training material, but you can't require they read it, or do the selling only by some method you prescribe. If you exert that kind of control, then the person is an employee by tax code definition, and you'll need to start paying them minimum wage, payroll taxes, unemployment insurance, withholding taxes, etc.

Hey,, if they can sell, I really don't care how they do it,, as long as it's ethical
