#2 on the GOOG! Now Getting 6k visits a Month

Hey everyone!

Just a quick Success Story I figured I'd share with you all.

So about 3 months ago I was doing keyword research and I found a keyword getting around 800 exact local monthly searches.

It was definitely a BUYERS keyword so I figured I'd do some further research.

I first went to Godaddy and found that the EXACT domain .com was available for this keyword (really lucked out on this)

Next, I checked Google and found that basically NO other sites were using the keyword in their domain, and rarely in their descriptions or even completely in the title.

So I bought the domain, set up a Wordpress TwentyTen theme and followed Kelly's advice in the Jumpstart guide to the T.

Next I posted around 8 PLR articles over the next several weeks.

I also did PURELY MANUAL blog comment backlinks on blogger and other blogs that I found that had at least a PR2 in my niche (probably about 20 of these backlinks total)

I also made sure to have a category widget and a tag cloud widget, took the dates off of all of my posts, pinged all pages on my blog and submitted the articles to a handful of social media sites.

I also made an RSS of my blog on Feedburner and submitted it various RSS directories.

2 months later... #2 on Google.

I'm now getting traffic primarily for my keyword but also a major amount from a keyword I never even thought about beforehand.

6000k highly targeted buyer visits a month. Total time = probably less than 20 hours. Total money = $0.

Hope that inspires some of you to go out and get it done!

Sincerely,

-Brody

    Thanks Sarevok,

Yeah as far as other search engines, I'm getting about 1% from Yahoo and 1% from Bing.

Great story. Very inspirational. Submitting to RSS directories always seems to help boost your search traffic.

Nice job. You should see if you can do the same with Yahoo and Bing. I wouldn't neglect that traffic either.

Really? I pay almost no attention to bing and yahoo. With a site with high rankings across all 3, Google sends almost 90% of my traffic.

I only care about ranking in Google, sends so much more traffic than the others, at least in the niches I'm in...

I don't think having copies of your pages on other sites is a good thing. When it comes to getting backlinks from decent sites because they find the content good, they could link to your content that is posted on another site, meaning they, not you, get credit.

I know the page will be indexed on your site first, but still, would you want your page getting posted on other sites without them crediting you?

I might be wrong this though. But I have never been tempted to submit exact copies of my articles on other sites for distribution.

Edit: Sorry, just re-read your thread. Its RSS directories, not article directories.

I think that's why he removed the dates, so people have no idea how long it's been indexed for. Might be wrong though.

this is very interesting and not a blueprint for long term success so please do not be surprised if it changes and earnings drop

Was it unique PLRs or something that already been published thousand times? This is interesting.

    How's the money coming?
