Is this Name a Winner or a Sinner?

Hello, Since there are so many Internet Marketers out there and so many businesses with similar wording for their domain names I was wondering if "you" think the domain name cbtalker.com might be one that would spark interest and credibility with the make money niche or not. I have been taught that to be successful in business you must separate yourself from the crowd. I believe that this name is easily remembered but it has been bothering me lately as to whether or not it its emails will actually get opened when it arrives in someones inbox.

I was hoping you might be able to provide some useful information about branding and domain name creation that doesn't include keywords,
What do you think?
Thank you.

P.S. I was not sure what other forum this thread would properly fit into.

Any name, when branded properly, can be separated from the crowd.

well first off, I would remove the domain cause someone will buy it and then you're out of luck. Second I always use keywords that are being searched for, to make my domain. See how many are searching for that one and you'll get an idea of what traffic you'll start with.

    good luck

I respect your opinion but I don't necessarily agree with you on this. He seems to have a more central entrepreneurial mentality and desires to set his idea apart from the rest of the crowd. Google certainly doesn't make you think of an Internet search engine if you've never used it before or heard of it (ok, bad example, but you get the point). Brandable names are often mysterious and vague, yet catchy and memorable in their nature.

Some might think that domain he brought up is catchy and memorable, while others may not. I personally think that the name Google is pretty dumb, but it's become one of the most well-known business names on the planet.

Thanks, I do actually own this domain all ready, so does that mean that you like it? I do understand keywords being included in the name is a plus but do you think this name would look good in someones email inbox. Do you have any branding suggestions?

      Thanks again.

dadhere is correct about the keywords on domain but avoid using trademarked names like iphone, kindle, amazon etc. if you don't want to receive love letter from these big guys

The name doesn't honestly spark much for me. What you do with the name and what style of business is all that matters. Just as someone already mentioned, google is name that sparks something now due to their business success.

    Good luck!

Actually, Sean Anderson made a typo on that name, it's supposed to be "googol" refering to specific large numbers but he typed "google" instead but Larry Page liked it..

I guess it depends on what type of content you are planning on putting on this site? My thinking is that the domain you mentioned would be a good fit IF you plan on maybe interviewing clickbank vendors and affiliates and posting the interviews on the site. When I hear "talker" I think audio...

Oh, I get it.now. I thought you were going to use it for a site about people talking on their cb (citizen's band) radios.

Now THAT would be an excellent fit.

That's what I thought! I guess we're showing our age...

But as far as being catchy, maybe at one time, but you see all kinds of "CB" products nowadays - "CB Domination", "CB Profits", "CB Treasure Chest", the list goes on and on - not sure if it's catchy anymore...

I like the domain and it's more about what you do with it than the name itself. Branded domains rather than keyword domains are probably a good way to go. There's plenty of rumors that Google is not placing the ranking on keyword domains that it once did and in fact, keyword domains can probably do more harm than good since Penguin.
