Clickbank & Adsense Removed. Money started to pour....

I have this website since 2008 that I maintain without making any cent. I have thrown away more than a hundred domains in the last 3 years but I kept this one among others for some reason. The site was earning with adsense before but since my account got suspended 3 years ago, I never tried doing adsense again. I placed clickbank ads (targeted niche ad) since late 2009 and until this month I never made a single sale even though the site is ranking on second page on an extremely competitive niche.

3 days ago I decided to remove all clickbank ads from its 37 posts. Today, I checked my tracking ID and I saw $48.98 with 21 sales. Sweet!! It's not a big amount but considering that the site was not making anything for more than 2 years is something notable.

Considering that the niche is weight loss, I never made a single sale with CB promoting high-gravity products through this page. I am just happy and surprised how Amazon converted almost 50% of its visitors to buy vitamins and health supplements...

So don't be sad if Adsense or Clickbank is not helping you. Amazon is always there to turn your traffic into money!

I think the real takeaway here is not that AdSense and Clickbank are necessarily "bad," or that Amazon is "good," but that everyone needs to test extensively -- especially if things don't seem to be working.

Yes, I never said that both are bad as I still have some sites that are doing well with CB. I think it's just compatibility. I posted this just to give other people options on how to make things work when something is not working. I'm just surprised with the result and the quick turnaround.

Yes, I didn't mean for that to sound like a criticism of your methods -- just my take on it. Congrats on making the change for the better.

No problem. I didn't think that way and what you said was certainly right..

I am willing to bet that the reason you made some immediate sales with the change was because what you were offering from Amazon was actually more in line with what your site visitors were looking for and actually wanting.

but good job, now you are making some money with this site.

Yeah, congratulations. I find that Amazon, most of the time, converts traffic A LOT better than Clickbank and most other affiliate sites. I just can't give Amazon the time of day because of their tiny commissions. :p

It can be a GREAT money maker though if someone built about 10 amazon sites and kept them all up in the SERPS.

I guess I would go with Amazon, it's real useful products, while clickbank has lots of crappy stuff on it. But I guess once you know how to promote one, you know how to promote the other too.

Ever since the amazon tax changes and tax threats my amazon sales have plummeted...

Did you ever try promoting the product Six Pack Shortcuts by Mike Chang? People rave about that product, and during certain times of the year, it's all over the net -- places like Youtube and beyond. I just checked out the affiliate page, and it seems to pay out well also.

The link has nothing to do with Amazon Associate Program. Losers are always everywhere and the owner of that link (whoever he is) is the biggest loser.
