How many of you make your SOLE living online and how many of you have a job working for somone else

I would like EVERYONE who reads this to respond. I am trying to get an idea of the success rate of people who use this site-

New or not, how many of you make your sole living online, and how many of you need to work a regular job as well?

Thanks for the input. I don't ever plan to be a "slave" again!! Best of luck to all of you.

I do not have a regular job. I do IM full time. I also have a network of sites that deliver constant monthly income. What is the point of this thread? Does it really matter if 1% of warriors have a job in the real world or if 90% do? Your success will always be determined by YOUR efforts.

I had to quote Tommy just to make sure everybody reads this...

If you stop wondering about what other people's results and focus on your own efforts, you just might have a chance in IM

      My 2 cents...

If you are just starting your internet marketing projects, they tend to take a few months to mature. Sometimes it can take a long time for them to show profit. In the meantime, I recommend putting what you have learned/are learning to good use and help somebody else SEO their site and company. It's easier than you think, and Internet Marketing is probably one of the only jobs that is not affected in any way by the recession, and only increases in demand during it.

I posted a guide on how I got my SEO jobs when I was just starting out:

        http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...ation-job.html

Might help give you an idea of how you can live off of internet marketing real fast.

I make a regular living online but it's primarily as a writer instead of a marketer. Of course I did have to market myself as a writer at one point, and still have to market my PLR.

In some ways that's maybe not quite what you're asking to hear about. BUT:

I've done a lot better as an online writer, for having been on this site. I learned enough to write about IM for marketers who were selling IM-niche products and it's brought me in a lot of work.

Studying this forum has been directly responsible for much of my success as a writer. And I don't just mean because so many members of my market/customer base are here. Anyone who wants to make a living online--as a marketer, service provider, or whatever--would do well to spend some time on Warrior Forum.

I still have a day job and am doing IM on the side. Just started in IM almost a year ago but I love doing it and plan to be successful! One day, I'll ditch the day job and do IM full time.

It takes work, but it's fun.

I started about 1 year ago with my first blog. Now I'm able to safely live abroad and just work online. I do small time SEO consulting and internet marketing for others and my own projects. It's possible, it just takes determination.

I am working a regular job and getting ready to retire from it soon. I am building an online business as another stream to that retirement and social insecurity. Hope this helps. BTW...what better place to ask this question. A fill in survey would have probably been better and get you less flak. Good luck in all of your endeavors,

I've been full time since 1998, though I did take a job for a short time a few years back, got pretty burnt out on the whole net thing. As others have said though, it's almost always made more than a regular job, many years it did much better then a job.

I think the big key is, for consistent earnings, is as Tommy said, multiple streams of income, least that's what I believe he was saying You shouldn't reply on just one source for your income, just like you shouldn't reply on one source for your traffic. I learned that one the hard way.

Not sure how it applies to your situation but I've been a full-time internet marketer since 2004.

As others have mentioned, you need to have a model that produces a predictable income from a variety of sources.

I've worked for myself since '93. I just wasn't great at the office politics even though I spent 6 years in sales. I had a number of semi successful ventures then found IM in '97 and that's what I've done since in various capacities as my main income (although I've had interests in 'real' businesses as well).

I am new in Internet Marketing, only been involved since October. I started off from scratch, under the wings of my partners. I am taking in all that I can, and you live and learn along the way.

I make enough at this time where I can stay at home with my girls, and that's what matters the most to me.

I am a full time Internet Marketer, I do have my own Wordpress Blog, but I am primarily a writer for my partners. I appreciate you wanting to know about what we do and where we are headed.

It is important in the state of our economy to survey what others are doing at this moment in time. I don't agree with others questioning why you want to know how we are doing in Internet Marketing. Everyone in Internet Marketing has been a buyer at one point in time.

I lived on the income from my sites and a couple of Social Media Consulting clients for two years, and it was plenty. Just recently, though (in January), I took a full time SEO job for a corporation. It was just too sweet a deal to pass up. And I thought I knew, while obviously not ALL there is to know about SEO, still quite a bit - but I can't believe how much I'm learning! It's kind of awesome.

This might mark the first time I've taken issue with the "vets" around these parts. I don't think there is any reason to question the motives behind this OP. A guy asking WHO is really making money, living the dream he may be dying to achieve, this is a guy I want asking a lot of questions.

Questions like these come from someone wanting to validate their efforts in the face of uncertainty, or from someone in need to substantiate their beliefs to peers that are telling him it's all bull%$#. Sometimes these questions stem just from someone just looking to call out the people here - so they can decide who is walking the walk and not just talking the talk. Whatever the motivation behind the question, it is worth getting the answers.

There is just nothing wrong with this OP and I think it's kind of strange to question the point of the thread, it contains a very meaningful lesson.

As a case in point, just by seeing Brad Grosse's office and obvious success has inspired me a great deal today, and will continue to inspire me for weeks to come. I will likely sticky this thread to my desktop so that when I start to feel uncertain I can see that office and know there are REAL people in the world achieving the things I expect to achieve.

I would not have had that inspiration without this OP.

My sentiments exactly. Though I quit my job about a decade ago, I still try and remember when I first got started in IM. I'll admit to doing a little bit of "bashing" a few years ago when I had my head up my azz (Riley still thinks I do but that's a different thread But now that I'm a little older and have survived some real health scares, I try and see things from other people's perspectives. People need to remember what it was like when they first got started. I think stating the obvious such as "worry about your own efforts", while true, is counter productive (in this case).

So good for you for chiming in. Sometimes people are looking for assurance and some social proof and they're not always necessarily looking for who the "full timers" are so they can spam them with an offer or try to set up a JV. Believe it or not, there are a lot of good people on this forum.

      My two cents,

Been involved in IM for about 1 1/2 years. Have 2 sites that make about $500 each on autopilot. Have a bunch of domains and a blog or two. I haven't worked for someone for over 4 years. I'm a reasonably successful Online Poker player and that's been getting me by. There is a learning curve for new Internet Marketers. . . esp. if you don't have any prior html, seo, and/or coding experience.

It's all about perseverance though, things begin to make more sense w/ time. Just be willing to read and learn a lot. All the info you need is out there. Look hard enough and you'll find it there for free. If you want to save time though, I suggest checking out the War Room on this forum. Lots of good info there.

Being a small time property developer, of late i have had to look at new ways of generating money (and soon), as my current business is like a sink with no plug in it! the money just floods out.

So i have been working full time hours (on top of my other business commitments) trying to understand and build an online business and income.

I will let you know in a month or two if my efforts have been worthwhile!!

Here's hoping, but i am fairly confident things will come together!
