Need advice for E-bay

Hello there,

I want to get started with E-bay. But I don't know whether i take product out side to sell on E-bay or I sell e-bay product on E-bay itself.
I hope someone kindly explain me.

Do you mean, are you not sure if you should sell your own eBay inventory or dropship?

Don't understand your question. Find a niche, a product that people are searching for, get the product from a wholesaler/distributer, then sell on ebay.

I don't understand your question neither. eBay is a simple and easy to use system.

You register on the site, then you offer a product.

You need to find what sells in the niche you are targeting.

I started by selling items from home. Stereo equipment, rare Cd's, just to get my feel for selling on eBay...

Buying on eBay and then selling on eBay is a dumb idea. People aren't that stupid. They go to eBay to buy cheap. If they see you selling something for a more expensive price, they won't from you, they'll go to someone else.

Go to liquidation.com, buy something wholesale and then sell on eBay piece by piece. Obviously do your research about the product first.

That's what my boyfriend does on eBay...he buys low and sells high...he sells baseball cards and makes a pretty good buck on eBay...so both buying low and selling on eBay can work depending on what you're buying and selling...

Well, I don't know much about baseball cards, so I don't know. But my point is, if someone put a final bidding price and it was lower than the one you bought for, then you lost money. If you put a reserve price and the reserve price hasn't been made, then you lost money again (reserve price fee). If you shill bid, you can get caught and suspended.
So, you might get lucky and someone actually win it for the price higher than you bought it for, but that doesn't happen every time.

Oh, and one more thing, even if the price would be higher, most likely, not by a big amount. And as far as I know, eBay and PayPal altogether take a fee of 11% of the selling price. So even if you gain some profit, all of it or at least the majority will go towards the fees.

I agree but believe me my boyfriend makes good money and doesn't lose on cards because he knows what price to buy cards for where he bare minimum doubles his money on each individual card AFTER eBay and PayPal fees...if he can't double his money on a card after ALL fees he doesn't bother buying...

The key is you have to know your market...when buying you're looking for deals obviously and that means taking advantage of mistakes eBay sellers make in either the way they list a card, pricing, ending an auction at a bad time, people selling cards in lots CHEAP because they don't want to take the time to list cards individually, etc.

Alot of the time customers of my boyfriend KNOW that he spent $20 on a card but because they want or need a card for their collection they don't care about spending $100 on the card...my boyfriends listings are 95% buy-it-now or buy-it-now/best offer...he rarely does auctions because that can be a risky proposition unless you start bidding at the minimum you're willing to take or he KNOWS that the card will get a ton of action (he does this without shill bidding)...

Buying low and selling high IMO works the best for collectibles usually but it can work for other items that aren't collectibles as well...the key is knowing your market because a lot of people on eBay don't believe it or not...

I get 50 free listings a month for auctions on eBay so that pretty much solves the listing fees problem as PayPal isn't that bad. You only get caught shill bidding if you use a different account with the same IP address, cookies, etc. eBay relies on buyers to report shill bidding. eBay themselves doesn't go looking around auction listings for potential shill bidders. They have bigger fish to fry.

Start selling stuff that you don't need in your house (ones that you can still sell, and not the really old worn out ones). Another idea is to find a wholesale listing on eBay and then sell them outside of eBay individually. Don't really get your question but I hope I gave you the right answer.

    Goodluck!

By instant sale you probably mean the " Buy it now" Function in an auction. You can have an auction with a "buy it now" or just use the "Buy it Now". I find that the auction format brings in the most dollars.
You didnt ask but if you are new to Ebay dont buy any of those pricey Ebay guides. Everything you need to know is on Ebays sight.
