Is Fiverr quality is getting down?

I am not sure why that old buzz on fiverr is gone. Almost 7 out of 10 orders are undelivered, asking for more money, more demands, low quality, sellers response rate is very bad.

But still those fancy items are moving great which are of really big scam fb likes, twt followers etc.

Also i hope this is same for other micro job network 3to30.com , jobsfor10, gigs, fourer etc

I am. Everyone told everyone else that they could make a killing on Fiverr, and that it would be nice and easy. Every Tom, Dick, Mary, and Jane are trying their hand at gigs they aren't qualified for.

The quality isn't gone for unique/quirky gigs though. You just have to work to find them. Writing and SEO services though? Wouldn't touch them with a 39 1/2 foot pole.

Exactly as Joe says IMO. There is some quality services on Fiverr for sure but you have to be very careful in your due diligence to find them and even then there's probably a good chance you're just chucking your money down the drain.

However, backlink services and the like are just junk on the whole and likely to get your site/s penalised by Google. As for article writing for $5. No more needs to be said.

We used to outsource many of our daily tasks to Fiverr suppliers that was a while ago, we have our own outsourcing team so we no longer use Fiverr, but I've heard that the quality is not the same.

You really have to search for the good deals, but yes it's still only a $5 gig. Of course most sellers wait to the last minute and throw your order together in rush. But still some good gigs for $5 no doubt.

Fiverr used to be great for getting a quick and simple job done that you couldn't (or didn't) want to do yourself.

The problem with it now, however, is pretty much what Joseph said. There are hoardes of people trying to "one up" the other guy to get a gig - all for the sake of $4 (since Fiverr takes out $1 fee each time your gig is delivered). When things like this happen, quality goes down the shoot.

In most cases, anyone who is looking for serious quality on a $5 gig is going to be severely disappointed. You get what you pay for. It's insane what people expect for so little. Then again, not much surprises me anymore.

I always honestly laugh when I see people praising Fiverr as the god of the internet.

People, it's $5. I've purchased Gigs off of there in the past, but none of them were IM related. Most of them were for my amusement. I never even thought about it until Tosh ran an episode where he purchased random Gigs for amusement.

As for people purchasing writing services or SEO services on there and expecting quality, really?

Having your link blasted to hundreds of link farms is not the best way to do SEO, nor is it even an efficient way to do SEO.

That fiverr new car smell has lost its appeal to myself also.

The competition is worldwide, in some countries $5 has more value than it does here in the USA.

So you have americans paying less than they spend on a McDonalds combo to get something they will not put the effort to do themselves, yet expect $100 quality.

As a seller of a service, when the job is complete you wait 14+days to receive $3.92 after fees.

    Time is money.

If a gig takes an american 20 minutes to complete, and hypothetically calculate that into an hourly figure, that comes out to a rate of $11.76 per hour. Actually that calculation will never realize itself, because 99% of the gigs will never have demand to occupy someone full time at that rate.

Now take someone in Bangladesh, a country where the per capita earnings are about $600 per year. That $3.92 is more than the average per day income of a resident in that poverty stricken country.

Fiverr and Paypal fees are the real winners within fiverr

So when buying from fiverr expect povery quality and you will never be disappointed

Its quite true that craze of Fiverr is going down. Also the updates were very partial to certain category of people out there. In my opinion that has been the major cause of fiverr's unpopularity is recent times.

I suggest you use www.odesk.com. There are a lot more quality workers there and the price isn't a lot higher. You can post a job and select a contractor that you like the most.

A week ago I needed graphics, and got 20 applications within an hour .

      Hi,

Reading all the comments I think that you have to search for quality. Even here Great Warrior Forum you can find rubbishy posts of one line just for promoting signature. So, everywhere there may be opportunists. Fiverr is not exeption for that. We have to search good peoples every where in every section.

I had to respond to this one.

Whatever you do, do not use Odesk. I'm just going to give you my personal experience when I was hiring from there.

As Lebowski said, you will receive dozens of applications within an hour, he's right about that.

      Here's what you'll get

      1) Completely incomprehensible broken English.
      2) Agents who send in applications for some of the non-Native English speakers so you think they have great English.
      3) People who disappear on you days on end or a week+
      4) A site that was designed by mentally handicap monkeys and the structure setup is a pain to navigate.

Are there quality workers on there? I'm sure. There's also some on Fiverr who have no idea what they're worth if you look hard enough.

If you do post on there, be prepared to sift through "Dear Hiring Manager, I have read your application." apps from people who don't answer any of the questions you put in the initial application.

Very few Native-English or skilled individuals go to Odesk and work from there.

I decided to hire a few $10/hr and even a few more expensive writers that were supposed to be Native English. The quality I got back would've been better if I spun a pre-spun article again. If anyone has a positive experience with Odesk, I guess that's a plus for them, but I learned my lesson rather quickly after interviewing over 100+ people for a few jobs and receiving some of the worst quality employees/work I've ever received.

I would also like to share my experience with Odesk. Sure, you get loads of applicants, as did I. However, if you hire under hourly the contractors will literally burn your money without doing good quality job. According to Odesk, you are paying for their time and not quality of work. So with that mindset, you can get contractors creating pure garbage but still getting paid $2-8 an hour.

Also touching on the Fiverr quality, you can still get decent people. You should go for there level 1,2,3 sellers. They would strive to provide better quality as to not risk getting a negative feedback on there profile. Like, fairly recently, I got a a flat cover 3D, and got Wordpress installed on a host with no cpanel. Both were done with fairly reputable sellers, and the quality of the 3D was excellent and Wordpress was installed with no problem.

The Fiverr conundrum: Fiverr's quality is going down the drain because too many unqualified people are on Fiverr now. But why would anyone qualified to do anything that requires a developed skill set do it for four dollars?

As many have said, Fiverr is still great for a thing or two, but honestly, why would you expect someone to give you top quality work for four bucks?

It always amazes me when I see people wondering why they didn't get great qualuty on an article they had written on Fiverr, or a video they had produced, or graphics they had done, etc,

If you expect professional quality work, and expect it to be done by someone in a country with currency anywhere remotely close in value to the U.S. dollar, then don't plan to get it for five bucks, of which the actual producer will only see four.

That being said, if you're looking for something whacky or something that a robot could do, Fiverr might be a great place. That's why the "fake likes" kinds of gigs are still being offered and selling.

And I don't know of many other places you can have a woman with a super-model body sing you happy birthday in the style of Chad Kroeger while wearing a C-3PO mask.
(Hypothetical gig, but you get the idea)

Agreed. I have had a few very disappointing gigs from fiverr. Hit and miss. The correct gig with good ratings are key. For example, '000s of solo ads for a fiverr etc are unrealistic, and so ones expectations should reflect that on such gigs.

Yeah, it's not really about five dollar services anymore. Sellers have to offer something at that price to begin, but the extra gigs are where most sellers are offering better service and quality.

People seem stuck on the idea that sellers are working for $5 only and all the time. Not true.

  • I'm personally not a fan of fiverr. I'd rather post a gig at odesk or elance where the contractor and I can work out a reasonable price for whatever it is that I'm asking to do. After that, I like to tip based on the work that I received.

Just seems more sensible and less gimmicky to me.

If in todays costly world you say you dont have money because living is so costly but you expect sellers will work with their ass off for a little amt. of money then nothing to say....

want quality work ? then pay a bit more.... atleast 20$ instead of 5$

sorry i may sound harsh but this type of questions just make me go crazy.

There are some cool and useful things on Fiverr but most (not all) of the SEO / internet marketing related gigs aare pretty bad. I've bought a few quirky birthday gifts from Fiverr, one was getting a picture of me and a friend turned into a super hero (they are a massive super hero fan) and they loved it (best gift ever apparently). Another gift I bought was a guy speed drawing a birthday cake with a personalised message on it and again the friend I sent it to said they've never had such a cool and thoughtful gift before. So there are some good stuff on there.

Even with the SEO gigs there are some very useful gigs too but often the sellers deliver late or you don't get exactly what the gig stated. $5 for 70,000 blog comments, 20,000 Twitter followers, 2000 FB fans and so on...you can't really go wrong can you. They have their uses.

There is nothing wrong with Fiverr.

My experience has been good. The quality hasn't changed. I like more options even if I have to sift through a little more.

Certainly depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for typical IM stuff like fake back links, fake likes or ultra cheap high quality writing, you are setting yourself up for some pain.

As someone mentioned before, you should hire people to do things you can't do or don't want to do. Then you will focus more on finding the right person and less on complaining. You will find them.

    Cheers

If the gig looks too good to be true then you will end up disappointed, and buying links, facebook likes, and twitter followers is never going to actually generate any cash - more fool you for following the system you read in a WSO.

Look for people who actually use their real name, have good feedback, and if you're not sure send them a message and see what response you get. Remember that if extra's are offered that means you should get a better service.

Have a look through the collection gigs of the top users, that should sift out some of the dross and help you find the hidden gems.

One thing I never get about Fiverr are the positive ratings.

If you buy anything IM related on Fiverr, like traffic, promotion, advertising, etc, you'll be lucky if you get any traffic whatsoever from these people. Most of the time you get absolutely nothing, might as well flush those 5 bucks down the toilet, yet somehow people are happy and those sellers keep their 100% ratings...

because They are too lazy to do any actual follow up.

the service provider gives them a list of 10k back-links claiming they are all auto approve do-follow. They are happy with that and rate with raving reviews.

If one would do a check on those links they would maybe find that 2 or 3 of them actually stick on an unrelated spam site with 1000's of others fishing for the same backlink.

  • You have to remember that with Fiverr, these guys are trying to get as much work as they can. What kind of quality can you expect from a person who's always rushing to finish one gig to start with another one? I think websites like Fiverr have a place in the IM community but if you need consistently good IM work, I think VAs are still the best option.

The trick is to set expectations low considering what you're paying. I've been happy with some providers there who have literally saved me hundreds of dollars. I haven't tried buying traffic yet but I won't do that probably. Aside from the feedbacks, I contact the seller to make sure we are on the same page. Btw, the gigs I got were testimonials, logo animation and voice over.
