Have them write your monotonous tasks and do data entry. Ie INPUT PPC bids and facebook photos. Make sure you utilize it and streamline it so there a methods they can use everyday. Thanks friend.

All depends what your business is and what tasks you are comfortable shipping out to your VA or the type of VA you employ?

More often than not you'll need to lay down exactly what their job description should be and what your expectations are for their role and monitor them via a daily report to ensure they are hitting your expectations.

Anything that's boring and would take more than an hour a day of my time.

For me, that's content creation and building backlinks. For other people it may be creating videos .. or answering support tickets.

Whatever task can be done by someone else and free my time, that's what I will pay for.

So far I've outsourced my press release and distribution. Everything else I'm still doing, but will eventually outsource article content & distribution off page, I'd still write my own content as I enjoy that.

I'll outsource product creation at some point too.

Outsourcing product creation is a sure path to misery, unless youre talking about bonus creations. Never underestimate the powers of stealthy outsourcers. I am always on the lookout for scames. You be too mate.

I let my VA do a bit of writing and researching. Some of the things that I can't do that I know she's capable of, I let her do. Does that make sense? But yeah, I do the stuff I can and the stuff that I like doing.

  • You can pretty much have your VA do anything. But to make sure they do it well, you have to remember a few things.
    1. Train them to do exactly how you want certain tasks to be done. Data entry or link building may be an easy job but if you don't show them how you want thing done, you'll never be happy with their work.
    2. If you're giving them a job that you don't know have to do, make sure you know exactly what you want and give them examples of the type of quality of work that you want done. For example, if you're hiring a web designer, show that person examples of websites that you like. This way you have a tangible standard to compare their work against.
    3. Communicate with your VA regularly and give regular feedback (good or bad).

Mostly time-consuming tasks like linkbuilding can be delegated to VAs but you should be realistic. Don't give tasks to your VAs that you know are impossible to achieve. It is also important that before assigning them to do such tasks, you should take time to learn them first so you will know that you are on the same page. Lastly (and the most important one!), you should maintain good communication with your VAs.

So far I have outsourced data entry, link building, cover design for ebook and research. I outsource as much as my budget allows and always deal to get a better bid that the one they offer. I do this after I interview them, give them a sample to do and there are a few candidates left for me to choose. (so they have invested time and energy already and want the job even more) I am honest with them and I tell that Im on a budget and this is what I can pay at the moment. I am always extremely polite and nice to them and try to help them as more as I can.

I have had VA's that do SO much of the daily grind work like, article writing, link building, sending emails, Power point presentations, social media, etc...

It really all depends on the VA themselves and what they excel at doing. I have had some that said they could write articles for me and turned out they were only doing article spinning (so needless to say they were fired), but then have found another that did some great articles after just recording an interview with me.

The hardest thing to do is to really find that right person that you work well with and can trust to get the job done. what I noticed is that with VA's, you usually get what you pay for.
