YOUTUBE TRAFFIC - MORE VIEWS
Just wanted to share with you guys something I did recently that has managed to get me more views to my YouTube channel and more traffic to my squeeze page.
So... What tactic am I refering to in this post. Well I'm specifically talking about "Video Responses."
I've just started doing video marketing and I came across this guy's channel. His name is Jon McNeil and I really liked his video's on his channel.
Going through his video's I saw a video titled "How To Turn Clicks Into Cash." Again I really liked the video and I got the idea that I could expand on the advice he was offering. I thought to myself if I could show people what software I use in my business that could benefit someone else why not do it. Right?
So I created a video and titled it "Clicking For Cash - Video Response to Jon McNeil" (Ok, i went a little over board with the extras after the hyphen. However, It worked). I then went back to Jon's video and posted a comment telling him about the video response I made.
Here is what I said; "Hey Jon just wanted to "follow up" get it? Lol. Yes I've seen that video. I watch all your videos. Anyway I really liked this video so I did a response. Hope you like it, unfortunately I can post the link here it's over at my channel." I've never done a video response before so I even messed up here by not knowing how to do a video response properly. Anyway I posted it to his channel and he accepted it. So now when you scroll down the comments under his video you will see my video with my title and my thumbnail.
Now his channel has had over 100,000 views so far to date and he gets decent views to his videos. Everytime someone watches his video they will be exposed to my video. So I'm stealing some his traffic. I'm leveraging the traffic of his channel to my channel. This never cost me a penny to do. I already have a flip camera to record myself talking. I have Camtasia for Mac to edit the video and I have a YouTube Channel, which is free to post my video to. Also to add he recently did another video referencing what I did here. Check it out:
Main things to do:
1. Make sure you put your squeezepage link in the first line of your description box. This will allow quick access to your squeezepage for the viewer. Also it's above the fold.
2. Do not put your URL at the the bottom of the video. You can do it if you want to but it's better if you don't so that the channel owner will be more inclined to accept your video response. I generally do this on all my other videos but I didn't do it on this video response.
3. Make your title closely related to the video. This helps because if the people commenting on his video have got the time to respond with a comment then they would most likely have time to watch the related video.
4. Make sure that the channel owner responds to your comments so that you know that they are active on their channel. This is important because there is no point doing a video response to someone who doesn't take time out to reply to his/her video comments. Chances are they will not even check their inbox to see your video response.
5. Give the channel owner a shout out in your video. Tooting horns can convince the owner to accept your video response.
This same strategy can be used in other networks as well.
