How do you guys make sure your Autoresponder messages dont get caught in spam fiters ?

Hi guys,

Is there a way to improve the chances of my autoresponder sequence actually reaching my subscribers inbox ?

If i send my autoresponder sequence to a new email address that i`ve sent up (theres only 7emails in the sequence) theres always afew that get sent into the spam folder and its not always the same emails

I do have afew links in some of the emails the links they point to sites like `youtube` `jing` and `aweber`

How can i improve the chances of my emails hitting the subscribers inbox ?

Thanks Jim

    1. Write naturally
    2. Don't use hype
    3. Don't use symbols (unless they conform to rule #1)
    4. Don't use caps (unless they conform to rule #1)
    5. Don't use unnatural abbreviations
    6. Check your mail before sending with a Spam Checker

    Agree with Will Edwards
"Check your mail before sending with a Spam Checker"
It is the simplest way, and some autoresponder come with that feature.

Firstly, make sure that you're sending your e-mails from
an e-mail server with a decent reputation so that your
messages have a high probability of getting delivered.

After that, it's time to look at what you're doing with
      the e-mail content itself.

      For example...

Make sure that you use a consistent 'from e-mail address'
that is also associated with a domain that has a decent
      reputation.

Avoid using spam-looking, spam-like or deceptive subject
      lines.

Also, avoid common spam trap words (or obfuscations, e.g.
f.r.e.e. for free, etc.) in the subject line and body content
      of your e-mail.

Most autoresponders come with an in-built spam assessment
tool, like SpamAssassin. Aim to minimize your score whilst
also balancing that with having a response-inducing message.

Ask your subscribers to whitelist your 'from e-mail address'
so that your messages have a better chance of landing in
      their inbox.

      Dedicated to mutual success,

      Shaun

    Hiya Shaun,

Thanks for the advice again your one helpful guy !!

I use aweber and the emails dont have any `FREE` words in body or header
like i say i`ve ran them though some of the online spam checkers and they come back clean and awebers spam assissian doesnt show up

I`m just new to this so i`m always tweeking the emails in my autoresponder although theres only 7 lol, and after every tweek i`m testing them sending them to different email providers to see what they look like, yahoo, gmail, hotmail ect

But everytime i send them to a new address acouple do get sent to the spam folder and it happens to different emails not always the same ones

I wouldn`t be so worried but yesterday i had a solo ad delivered i do use single optin but normally the first email with the download link and introduction gets loads of opens but this solo ad got me 90 subs but only 6 opened the download/intro email ??

    Thanks Jim

Recommendations from the developers of the Wysija newsletter plugin:
    1. Avoid sensationalist titles; Subject line simple but enticing.
    2. Minimizing image content.
    3. Include postal address in footer.
    4 Always include unsubscribe link.
    5. Use home grown opt in mailing lists.

Just ask the subscriber to whitelist your email address or add that to their email address book.

Unfortunately there are a number of email providers that funnel ALL emails into the spam folder unless the address from which it's being sent is in the recipient's address book.

A while back I had a travel membership website and, unfortunately, most of the subscribing members were computer and internet illiterate. I found myself continually dealing with complaints accusing me of not sending them promised information. When I asked them to check their spam folders, half had no idea what they were, and half told me they habitually emptied their spam folders periodically without ever checking the contents first.

This, despite instructions sent to each new subscriber explaining how to whitelist my email address.

You will always get autospammed by someone! That is just a fact of Emailing!

    1. Keep your subjects under 50 characters and do not use any symbols! Don't repeat subject lines. If you must, don't do it often or in a row.

    2. Don't use - Do Use:
    free - complimentary
    $ - dollar
    200 - two hundred

    Highly Spammed Niche Example:
    weight loss or loose weight

Instead use improve your body or decrease your weight (anything less commonly used)

    3. Make sure you have an email service with high deliverability:

    AWeber
    Constant Contact
    Get Response
    iContact
    MailChimp
    Vertical Response
    (just a few examples)

    4. Check your domain for blacklisting on spamhaus.org
Or here: BLACKLISTALERT.ORG - Email Problem ? - Test if your IP or DOMAIN is blacklisted in a spamdatabase

    5. Remove Hard Bounces from your emailing... sending to a list building up of hard bounces can get you on blacklists.

    6. Ask your users to white list you/add to their address book.

    7. Check your email in SpamAssassin or other email scoring systems.

    8. Do not send emails that are one giant graphic. Graphics should compliment text, not be required for the recipient to understand your marketing message.

Make sure you tell your subscribers to whitelist, or add your email address to their contacts so ISPs don't block them. Also, make sure you're using a reputable email service providers so you get the best deliverability possible.

A message considered as a spam if the sender excessively using caps, symbols $, and artificial abbreviation as a title. You should also avoid using deceptive words such as : Free, Limited, Hurry, etc.

Thanks for all the cool replys !

I have sent my emails though loads of different spam checkers now and they always come back `safe`, These emails are just the first of my auto responder emails and i`m trying to build a relationship with my subscriber so theres no selling and no free, hurry any of those kind of words

And the subject headers are all low key with very few links in the body of text

I just guess that sometimes the emails are going to be sent into spam folders, my friend sent me a `hi how you doing` email a few days ago abnd that went into spam so it is what it is a guess ?

It also ever happened to me. But I think because of the "friend" was the first time send an email to me, and not listed in my contact.
No such promotional words, etc. But also no such important as well. Just a short message that spam filter think "Hey, it's just few words, why not to send it through phone SMS?" spamm-ed you now! lol
