Previous Used Domains 175+ Back Link issue

I registered and bought a domain yesterday. Having got my first 2 posts set up and online I decided to set up my project as normal in Traffic Travis. I just done that and noticed the domain has 175 back links.

It seems the domain was bought and released not so long ago, the posts with the back links are from 2010.

Now my question

1. Should I not worry and leave them there?
2. Try and get them removed - this is what I think
3. Just continue with my own seo method and content and forget about it.

The back links are a pile of poo!

Looking for some advice from anyone who may have been in this situation before! Please note this is not a buy from a friend domain, or off flippa I registered it and bought it.

It depends on whether they're causing a problem or not.

There are only 175 so I personally wouldn't bother - they'd soon be swamped down in the numbers by all the good links.

However if you think they're causing a penalty then do something about it.

For starters I would get the site into your Google webmasters account and see if your link building efforts are getting the results they should.

If your site is penalised then do some link removal requests for the existing links and submit your efforts as a reconsideration request via your google webmaster account and include a note that you bought the site and those links were from a previous owner and show your evidence that you've tried to remove them.

That should be enough to get any penalty gone.

Otherwise - get another domain and redirect this dodgy one straight to it and start fresh.

Thanks I'm a bit quick on the gun as I've not started as of yet, I just wanted to get some feedback before hand. If I had to remove them id start now you see!

I'll leave it see how it goes and come back with some more info then I think
